The $500 ones came UPS and they were about 4-7 days out. I received the shipping notice with tracking info maybe 2 days after I purchased and 2-3 days for shipping.

The $100 denominations came in the mail maybe about 5 days later.

How many points do you need for these gc? How does it work?

They are 1,000 points for a $10 discount on a $100 gift card. So you pay $90 for a $100 gift card or $450/5,000 pts for a $500 gift card plus a couple dollars for handling fees.

The 4-7 day estimate is best case if you are buying the $500 card. Make sure you answer the phone when Verizon calls you to verify your shipping address and make sure you're home when UPS delivers because it requires a signature. If you're not home they'll take it to the closest UPS Store the next business day after 1PM - that was my experience, yours may vary. Going forward I'm planning to buy the $100 gift cards over time vs the $500 gift cards to avoid the hassle of the call and being at home for UPS.

I didn't get a call, but I did have to sign for the $500 ones w/UPS. Next time, I'm going to have it delivered to my job.

If you have purchased Carnival gift cards through this program, how long did it take for you to receive them?

I've ordered them twice. The first time it took 2 weeks to receive the $500 card and it required a signature upon UPS delivery. The second time it took 7 days to receive the $100 card and it came in regular USPS snail mail.

As someone else stated, Verizon's agent called me to verify my address before shipping the $500 card.

I logged on here to ask this exact question since my final payment is due 3 weeks from today.

I just ordered my gift cards, hopefully they arrive before the 23rd. :)

I was also pleased to find out you can now pre pay for Cheers with the gift cards, so I'll be ordering more before we sail. :)

I've bought four of the 500 ones this month...2 at one time, then 1 and 1 again. Each time they shipped on the 2nd day and by the 5th day I had them in hand. I never once received a call from Verizon but did have to sign. You can check tracking at UPS and arrange to be home. Tracking at UPS has been 100% spot on for me. They delivered the day they said they would. I applied all 4 to my Thanksgiving cruise saving me 200$ in grats that I would've had to pay! I say go for it. I love the 500 ones because they do require a signature and are tracked. I'd be afraid the 100 ones would go MIA and I'd be out of gas getting a replacement or refund.

I've been reading about the Verizon cards. Have a lot of points but never a reason to get anything. 4-500 cards is a big chunk of change but in the big picture a good savings. My question- when you get your cards how do you go about paying? Online or call in? You can use them to 1. pay your Balance due 2. Pay grats 3. Purchase items???? Please help. Thank you.

After I received my cards I went to my online booking and made a payment with them. There is a spot for that. I also had pre-paid grats added to my sailing earlier so those were paid for with gift cards as well. I have been slowly adding gift cards when I have extra cash to use for my SS account. You can call before you cruise and have them added, or at Guest Services once you are on board.

Wait, you can call Carnival and have them add gift cards to your account before sailing? I have $700 in gift cards for my on-board account. If I can avoid bringing them I will happily call and have them added. Will they show up as OBC or?

Thanks

Well normally I wouldn't get that many at once but once I figured out how to do things as far as paying for grats and my cruise it just made sense..I was already going to pay that amount for my cruise..why not order the gift cards, save 2oo$ on gratutities, so I did! :D I also cashed in my southwest airlines reward points..I take one trip a year..not enough to save to get a free flight..So I got a 100$ Carnvial GC with it..I went to hubbys and sons accounts and got one for theirs! So 300$ just for using my reward points! :D I love to save where I can..that's free money for the casino baby! ;) You can pay for your cruise with GC's , add them on at the kiosk or GS onboard. Pay for excursions! Now I'm hooked on my Verizon rewards...now that cruise and grats are paid for I'm going to buy some more for onboard. I do have to note however that I love the 500$ ones because I'll always use them and also because someone has to be here to sign for it..they don't just leave it! Our USPS here stinks and I don't trust 100$ ones to get delivered.
