best place to grab lunch first day on the ship (Oasis)

Haven't been on a royal caribbean ship in well over 10 years, but even back then windjammer was always packed, and I've seen it posted again and again how crazy the windjammer can be now, so anyone have any suggestions on the best place to grab lunch that first day on the ship. Or any day really, though I am mostly thinking that first day since there will be 11 of us getting on and we'll likely all want to eat together that first day, by day 2 the 'too much' family togetherness thing will no doubt have already set in, lol. Not really, but by the second day I have no doubt everyone will be off doing their own thing.

Any of Park Cafe, Solarium Cafe, Cafe Promenade, Sorrento's, Wipeout Cafe, Boardwalk Doghouse.

We've enjoyed going to Giovanni's on embarkation day.

The cost is well worth getting away from the crowds that day! :D

Giovanni's (cost worth it) or Park Cafe. I avoid the WJ that day:) Even with fee - I also like Johnny Rockets.

Since you enter the ship through the Royal Promenade, we stopped by Cafe Promenade to look at the offerings and grabbed a cookie to hold us over as we walked up to Park Cafe.:p We boarded just after 11am and it was busy but there were still plenty of seats.

Anywhere but WJ. We like Park Cafe or the dog house. Dh is less crowded.

Park Cafe... We only went to the windjammer once the whole cruise there were so many choices. And then we went in only to check it out. It can't be avoided on most ships but on the Oasis class it's easy.

Unless you are in the first groups to board your large group will have trouble finding seating together except in some of the lesser none locations. The wipe out cafe and solarium cafe do not see as big a rush on embarkation day as only repeaters know where they are. Problem is that both are relatively small and seating your group together would be difficult if not impossible.

You can walk in without reservations, they will serve you if there is space.

I don't think it's possible to make pre-cruise reservations for lunch anyhow.

Correct. On embarkation day just show up and they'll seat you.

I will jump on the Giovanni's band wagon too, we have made it a habit of doing Giovanni's for lunch each time. You miss all that chaos that goes on in the WJ, and the food is good.
