Dream vs. Splendor opinions please!!!

I'm trying to plan our usual anniversary cruise for the week of Sept 21, now that our time off has been confirmed. I've been debating on itineraries and ships for that week. We have been on the Dream and absolutely loved it, but the itinerary is the same one we did for our honeymoon. The Splendor would be a new ship for us, and at least one of the three ports (Ocho Rios) would be new for us. But I've heard and read very mixed reviews about the Splendor. One bonus is I can use my casino rate for Splendor itinerary, but not the Dream, although the cost isn't really a deciding factor. More so whether or not I'll enjoy the ship we're on. Anybody able to weigh in with likes/dislikes about Splendor?

I haven't sailed on the Dream, but have sailed on the Breeze 4 times. It is my favorite ship. I sailed on the Splendor last month, and I loved it. I missed the Italian Restaurant, Blue Iguana Cantina, and Thrill theater. However, they have a burrito bar and a rotisserie chicken place. The entertainment and staff on the Splendor have been the best than on any of my other cruises. The cast of the Playlist Productions is the BEST that I have seen on any ship. They're amazing singers, dancers, and performers. I love the entertainment staff on this ship[. They're so much fun. You will LOVE the Splendor!

Dream. Hands down. Newer ship has most of the newer things ex Guy's shows are, good. And going out of New Orleans. Major plus. If you can try to get a day or two in NOLA. Just love the food

Dream doesn't currently have Guy's or any of he 2.0 eateries (though they will after early next year) so it depends on if she is talking about this September or next.

Thanks! That's definitely helpful information!

I was leaning towards the Dream just because we have sailed this ship before and it was awesome, although I would miss Guys burgers but apparently I wouldn't get that on Splendor either. I do love leaving out of New Orleans. I'm just stuck on trying to do a new itinerary though if I can.

Both are nice ships. The dream is newer and has the extra hot tubs on the side of a deck other than pool area which are really nice. They also have a better water kids play area than splendor. The dream has the Oceanside bbq and splendor has rotisserie. Other than that I think their food options are close to the same.

I would say that I prefer the Dream by a smidge. But between these two ships the itinerary would be the deciding factor for me.

We really enjoyed both ships and are going on the Splendor next month.

I have been on both ships (as you can see in my history below). Loved the Dream. I, personally, did not care for the Splendor. I found it hard to navigate the ship. On the 7th day of my Splendor cruise I was still trying to figure the ship's configuration. But that could have been just me. The Dream was great.

Interesting answers above. I've been on both, but The Splendor was our most recent ship. We spent 8 weeks straight on her and she, and her crew, became my favorite, hands down.

Very easy to navigate. What I really liked was that the dive-in movie screen is under the retractable roof; so, questionable weather was never an issue.

No Guy's, but she does have Mongolian Wok. In addition, the best Pizza Pirate on the waters. In the dining room, if Pablo is still the Maitre' D, he was the best we ever encountered. Entertainment has changed since we were on, so I can't comment on that.

She has the best crew around! Loved everyone and everything about that ship. I'd go again in a second if I could easily get to Miami. I would pick Splendor over the Dream as I found the Dream to be a little crowded in the Lido area.

Whatever you choose, enjoy!

8 weeks straight...I'm jealous! I sailed 5X on Splendor in 2014 and was very upset when she went to Miami from NY or I don't know how many more cruises I would have gone on since then...
