Could you please post your balcony category (D2,D3 etc.) and cabin number. I have a balcony booked on the "hump" and didn't know it had two chairs and a couch. I am in 6616.

 

My apologies, I was mistyped. We has a JS on the hump not a regular balcony cabin. That's why there are the extra chairs in that picture.

 

It was 8 years ago. That's my excuse! Lol :)

Do you see or hear any active work on the unfinished projects?

 

 

We haven't heard anything though we have an aft room so we are pretty far removed. We haven't seen any signs of active projects around the ship.

Can anyone verify what specialty (pay) restaurants are currently available? Pretty bummed that Chops won't be available for our cruise at the end of January....

 

 

Giovanni's table, chef's table, and Johnny Rockets are the only pay restaurants that are currently available.

I have not seen (or smelled) a cigar bar or any reference to it on the directories. The smoking sections in the compass are listed as the casino, outer deck on 4 (port side), and pool deck (port side).

The cigar lounge used to be on deck 5, forward, just before you enter the Imperial Lounge, on the starboard side. The deck plan now says "Card Room / Library", but it's not known if this change was completed.

I am certainly not questioning OP on their cabin category/pix....but if I had just been shown the pix and told to guess what cabin category I would have guessed the top pix to be a JS rather than a "balcony". (at least from the limited number of cabins we have seen[emoji3])

Guessing that is a suite, not a balcony room.

I thought I read that Izumi was going to be on the Royal Promenade, in place of the Sports Bar.

 

No! my first trip back in awhile to a Voyager class ship occurs during the NFL draft and Hockey playoffs.

I read that Izumi has been cancelled altogether. Curious to know about the Connoisseur Club. That's one of my fave places during the evening. Deck plans show it as gone but they also show the Suite Lounge and we know that has not been done yet.

Sorry for all the fans of the cigar lounge but I checked it out today and it is gone. The card/game room is open. I will upload pictures later tonight. Also, today I noticed them bringing additional carpets on board and adding new carpets to some of the stores/public areas.

I was to have a cabin on new deck 12 those cabins are no longer part of the upgrade at this time We were forced into other compatible rooms, the water park will be done by Dec 10th so if you had a cabin on deck 12 better call RC quickly I am now on a lower Deck.

They are turning the old card room on deck 14 into a suite lounge. It was just delayed due to the hurricane. It is to be ready "early 2017" whatever that means.

Attached are the last of the photos that I took around the ship. We thought the ship was in great shape overall. The color scheme in the cabins/hallways is definitely outdated and a little musty but that didn't stop us from having a fabulous time. We sailed this cruise mostly for the ports, which were great. We were lucky to have mostly sunny weather and maximized each day off the ship. Let me know if you have any questions. Bon voyage to the next group of cruisers!

 

Main dining room definitely looks like it has new carpets/chairs.

That's also a bummer. That was a nice public space to hang out with a nice view of the pool deck. I'm glad that the complete refurbish was not done, and I feel I will like this ship a lot less once it's finished. Oh well.
