I have GTY cabin on the Freedom for the next summer.

I have got the cabin assignment few weeks ago, as i didn't like the location of the cabin i have got , I have call RCCL in order to switch to another room at the same category.

They have just told me that GTY cabin cannot be change after the assignment, and i have to stay at the same cabin i have got.

Did anybody succeed to change GTY cabin assignment?

Its very strange that they force me to stay at cabin i don't want.

I will appreciate your advice.

If you are booked under US/Canadian rules, the cruise line normally lets you change your assigned stateroom to another in the same exact category.

If you are not booked under US/Canadian rules, then they may not let you change. I have read that UK bookings cannot be changed.

That is part of the risk of booking a GTY, right? In return for that risk you get to save some money.

Agree...it's obvious that you need to prepared to

to accept what you are given when you sign up for

the grab bag in return for enjoying that lower price.

Roll the dice...get lucky...but maybe not so lucky.

Ditto -GTY means GTY that's the risk for saving 20% or more! Its also depending on you TA because they block out cabins to give their customers good deals, but normally they have to take the less than ideal cabin location.

If you are in the US call again. It helps if you have your cabin number picked out and DON'T mention that you have a guarantee. Just say that you want to change from cabin xxxx to cabin xxxx Good luck

Thanks for posting.

I didn't think that Royal US would make changes to a reservation made from another country.
