B2b harmony turnaround day experiences

We completed a B2B on Harmony last week. On turnaround day we were instructed to meet at the Schooner Bar. Once everyone cleared the ship, we were escorted into the terminal, showed our passports to customs, and walked right back onto the ship prior to the start of the boarding of new passengers. There was a special luncheon for consecutive cruisers in the MDR. You will still need to attend Muster for the second week.

On our turn around date, 1/28/17, we had over 180 b2b people and we met in the dining room on deck 5. We never had to get off the ship. Customs came on board and we were released around 11:00. We were told that the previous week on the Harmony they did the same exact thing with over 160 b2b passengers.

Nice touch that customs came on board.:)

We missed that pleasant experience by a wee! Did a B2B on Harmony Feb.18th and the 25th. Customs will no longer come onboard the Harmony due to a very bad family the week before our feb18th cruise. They whole family was asleep in their stateroom, the crew had to knock on their stateroom door to wake them. Needless to say the rest of the B2B folks were less than thrilled with this family. Hence no more customs on Harmony for now, which is a shame....K.O.:(

We will have to change cabins because we are adding one other person on the second week. I am wondering if we will have access to our new cabin on turnaround day or will we have to wait until all cabins are ready. Another question do we remove everything from the safe and pack it around until we have get into the new cabin. One more question can we bring 4 bottles of wine if we have proof of b2b wiil they keep 2 bottles until the second week. Thank you for all of the responses. :)

We will be on our first B2B on Harmony in September. We understand there is a meeting on the last day of your first cruise that you need to attend to learn about the procedures for Turnaround day. What all do they tell you at this meeting? Anyone recently on a Harmony B2B know what time your meeting was on Friday? We have a lot of stuff planned that day already and want to make sure we work around this meeting.

Also can we make specialty restaurant reservations for the second week during the first week or do we need to go to a specialty restaurant at 11am on TAD for the second week, just like we will the first week?

Any other details about TAD that anyone wants to share?

We are VERY excited and I am a planner so I like to know what to expect.

Depending on how many b2b's, there may or may not be a meeting. If very few, usually you just get an information sheet in your cabin a couple of days prior. All b2b should get a packet with your new seapass card and an "In Transit" card. You can show the "In Transit" card to access your room, new or otherwise, after you re-board. You shouldn't have to wait for the cabins to opened for new cruisers.

Oh, I thought there was always a meeting the day before. Was this on Harmony that they didn't have a meeting? Also thought I had read that you get your new seapass cards on TAD when you meet at the designated spot. So you get them in your room the day before?

Thank you

Procedure varies all over the place depending on number of Consecutive Cruisers involved. We have had meetings/no meetings. Cards in rooms or pickup on last evening from Guest Services or card being valid for two cruises. Escort off boat or dining room. Lunch or no lunch. Really isn't predictable. In US they will have to zero the passenger count somehow.

Sometime during your first cruise stop in at Guest Services and make sure you are on the list for the next cruise. Usually they know what will happen about four days before the cruise ends. We've only had to show the In Transit card to bypass lines in the terminal to get back on (and it doesn't work before they start boarding new passengers). Nobody cares if you are in the hallways going to your new room, but doesn't hurt to have the card. Fire doors will be closed and can be opened with little lever up high on one side.

We have made dining reservations with the dining staff on the first cruise. In our case we wanted the same waiters in Mytime and they were moving to new stations. Door greeter had just assigned the new stations and moved us with the waiters, or would have let us keep the same table. Haven't tried this with specialty, but suspect they would do the same thing.

If you do a cabin change get to know the new steward during the first cruise. He/she will get your cabin ready early and help with the move. Stewards will move anything on hangers, rest needs to be in a suitcase. He can also get you access to the new cabin safe as soon as current occupants leave.

If you are planning on giving an additional gratuity to waiters or steward check to make sure they will be on the next cruise. Usually we know just from talking to them.

A B2B is actually much easier than just a single cruise and really makes sense if you are flying to the port.

We did a B2B on our last cruise, our first B2B. We were told to meet in one of the bars I believe at 0830. They came around and checked us off a list and gave us our Seapass cards. Then we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. They came around at 1000 and said we were running late. They stopped debarkation 4 times because the terminal was at capacity. I should have taken a book to read. The employees tried counting heads. I said they should look in the box and see who's card is still there. They then came around again to ensure that all our party was present. The lady at the next table mentioned they should just call our names and we could say "here" like at school. At noon, they finally lined us up for customs. As we went out the door, they were asking everyone, "Are you Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton?" Ah, so they are the culprits! We are stopped three more times on the way to customs. About a 10 minute wait each time. They stop us right outside of customs and allow employees to go through before us and back on. We finally clear customs and are back on and in the main dining room for Steak Diane. We had 88 people.

Leave your hanging things in the closet and pack the bags. We told our stateroom attendant the night before. We didn't have access to our rooms till after 1 which didn't matter because that's when we were eating lunch. Our stuff was hanging in the new closet and our bags in our room.

What was super interesting is the night and day difference between the passengers. The second week was only a 5 day. We booked it because the prices were dirt cheap however we felt like we were on a different cruise line. A Diamond talked to us in the Schooner Lounge and said the longest lines were for "new" passengers. After all, you are Gold after your first cruise and have a dedicated line. She said there was a fist fight in line. The pool police were non-existent on the first cruise but were out in force for the second one. One couple had their stuff moved twice in the same day for hogging chairs. When they finally returned they demanded an elderly man get out of "their" loungers. Another passenger started yelling at them and I thought I was going to see a fist fight. Passengers were bringing their toddlers and other small children into the Solarium pool. Kids were running rampant pasting their gum on the nose of the horse statutes in the Solarium. People practicing for the belly flop contest in the Solarium. :o I've been on Majesty who's weekend cruise was tame compared to this one! It was certainly eye opening to compare the two weeks. And for the "newness" of the cruisers, I went out in Cozumel to watch for pier runners. Another passenger standing there said half of the line to get on the Disney Wonder were RCCL cruisers! I know it can be challenging if you are in a sea of white ships, but come on. They didn't paint your ship black while you have been gone! Maybe they were in line for the nice cold water Disney provides. It was really hot. ;p

We also did a B2B in January. Never had to leave the ship. All consecutive cruisers met in the dining room, customs

came on board and we were done in a flash. Also had a special lunch . Couldn't have been easier.
