ksmith61 Posted March 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Cruising on Oasis next month and looking for Nassau suggestions. I find excursions to be overpriced and have no desire to go to Atlantis. Really leaning towards staying on the ship this time to avoid the overbearing locals. Anyone have suggestions for other options? We would love to relax somewhere but not sure of the options. Thanks for your help.
kwazi07 Posted March 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2017 You could always go to Junkanoo, which is free. I personally went to Ardastra earlier this month. It's a short bus ride from the port and is pretty fun and a relaxing, quiet day. ravensbad Posted March 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2017 There is a Ports of Call board for questions like this, you may want to browse over there. I haven't yet been to Nassau so I can't offer any first-hand experience or suggestions. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=

anne.brumlevestaley Posted March 27, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2017 We bought day passes to the Melia on Cable Beach last year. Very reasonable and a gorgeous resort! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
joecruz1 Posted March 27, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 27, 2017 If you want a great place for a beverage and some good bahamian cooking, go to the "Bearded Clam", very close to port. I make it there even if that's the only thing I do in Nassau.
LuCruise Posted March 27, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 27, 2017 We really enjoyed the Blue Lagoon excursion. It wasn't a long stay but had a nice few hours on the beach.

sddsddean Posted March 27, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 27, 2017 Having been there and being totally underwhelmed, with hindsight I'd stay on the ship. We overlooked the gangway. All aboard was 2.30pm. At this time there were still about 300 passengers queueing to board. By 3.30 (bearing in mind we should have left at 3) the golfcarts were racing up and down the pier trying to find 'missing' passengers. At 3.40 we left...just as a couple turned up and missed the ship. When we arrived in St Thomas, we asked one of the security guys on the gangplank if the 2 passengers were re joining. He said " What do you mean 2...11 people missed the ship!!". I think some people regretted trying to sleep off their early alcoholic lunch!! Tatka Posted March 27, 2017 #14 Share Posted March 27, 2017 I wonder if one can get to Blue Lagoon on your own?
Surfguyxxx Posted March 27, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 27, 2017 Stay on the ship while everyone else get's off the boat so you can have it to yourself. Great massage specials too!
