Rare A&L_Ont Posted October 8, 2017 #1001 Share Posted October 8, 2017 (edited) My final thoughts will come over the next day or two. For those requesting compasses I regret to say that I did not keep them this cruise. In all honesty with all the excitement going on it wasn't first of my things to do. I will also do a separate small thread about my Star Class experience this cruise. I am also fairly certain that Maureen will be putting final thoughts to paper when she arrives home. I will be going to sleep as soon as Owen does. Just counting the minutes. Edit add: while we were gone Owen played in the first two games of the season. Both were wins and he contributed 4 assists and a goal. Great start to the season. Yorkvillain Posted October 8, 2017 #1002 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Owen says thanks to Tim and Courtney for the water bottle. I've never seen anyone do so well at trivia. It was our first undefeated trivia week (thanks to some great teammates). We only came home with a few pens though since we gave away most of our prizes to the teams that graded our sheet. Meanwhile, we haven’t even been home for four hours and we’re out playing pub trivia.
Donna_In_India Posted October 8, 2017 #1003 Share Posted October 8, 2017 (edited) The Escape is still my favorite ship (until the Norwegian Bliss comes out, then the Escape will be my 2nd favorite) but I was impressed with the improvements on the Harmony. I was ready to write off the Oasis-class but after this week I think I could sail the Harmony, Symphony or the new Oasis5 every 2-3 years or so. Hey Tim...so glad you enjoyed! We're on the Harmony Nov. 2018. You know Escape is coming to NYC? That's the only big NCL ship we haven't cruised. We'll definitely book it to Bermuda. We're already booked on the Bliss for August. maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1005 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Note Andrew’s “angry face”. Canadians are not built to be angry or to give the finger. As opposed to Bostonians! Note my double barrelled seething rage!:mad: Perhaps Maureen too. I can only imagine what her bar crawl will be like today.:D So good it took me two days to recover from it! :halo:
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1006 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Where is the Redhead? Where is the redhead - likely sleeping somewhere! Thank You, 55, for worrying about me. That's the kind of concern and compassion I expect here on CC. :'):')
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1007 Share Posted October 8, 2017 It seems like, no matter where you park your new vehicle, someone always parks their beater next to it. :'):') Hilarious!! :'):') Wait - with everything else that’s been said and some of the photos posted, there was actually a post that was censored? Interesting! I've got a few "questionable" photos, but, I don't want to go to CC Jail. Bob, is there a way to run some photos by you before I post them?:evilsmile:
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1008 Share Posted October 8, 2017 I'm starting to worry about Maureen. We haven't seen her, Rhonda, or Heather since last night. The good news, we didn't hear their names call prior to embarkation or see them running the pier. Honey, you've met us! We can't run or we'd all end up with two black eyes. ;p Or, two black guys, either way, it's all good. :') Just read any of Maureen’s older reviews. This is par for the course when she goes on a bar hop. She passes out, misses dinner and then wakes up the next day and posts her hilarious drunken pictures. I would be more worried if she DID post today. ^^This^^ You get me, Villain, you get me.:hearteyes:
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1009 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Maureen isn't at the Battle if the Sexes. We were there! Heather and I were part of the circle of women. She isn't at the Quest either. Lies, pure lies. My team came in 3rd place and Heather showed her secret tattoo to help her team. And, no, there will not be pictures of that! :'):')
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1010 Share Posted October 8, 2017 You just made Rick’s day. He didn’t think anyone got that. Hey, Rick worked hard on that joke. I'm not saying it was funny, I'm just saying he worked hard on it. (Actually, it was pretty funny and now I understand what Courtney was trying to tell me at the Red Party. ) :') Maureen - Did I just hear “Little Ricky” just come out of Bobby Brown’s mouth on the Morning Show?! Thank you for the shout out! I wrote Little Ricky, but, he only read Ricky! Do over time!! :')
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1011 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Wait - Little Ricky was where???? 90's Dance Party goes wild? Honey, you don't want to know! :'):') Speaking about a return, guess who we found looking at cruise photos. No, not Notorious MSG. We located the Legendary Maureencruiser and her posse. Haha, You never thought to look for us anywhere else than in a bar before. Wait, what? You could see my posse through my pants? ;p

maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1013 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Maureen was a slacker tho. Now, listen here, you whippersnapper! I'll have to teach you respect and compassion for the elderly and the infirm. Where's 55work2play when I need her, him, her?? :loudcry::loudcry: Thank you for sharing your cruise with us! But 4-headed monster you four are not, more like a box full of 4 Labrador puppies: friendly, adorable, sometimes mischievous, but all round awesome! (photo source: https://www.redbubble.com/people/dennisthornton/works/9427460-a-box-of-4-labrador-puppies) Gee, thanks! I think this looks more like us, though. maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1014 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Andrew and I have the Symphony booked for March 2019 together. We will start recruiting Maureen and Rick soon. Hmmmm, Rhonda? Heather?:confused: The most annoying phenomenon in US airports  Ugh! The worst to me is when you land and they turn the seat belt sign off. Everybody jumps up out of their seats and stands there bent in half for the next 20 minutes. Second pet peeve is when I have a lot to say (always) and CC multiquote only lets me quote 2 posts at a time. Is there a hack around that that I'm just not aware of? :o

maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1020 Share Posted October 8, 2017 OK, I'm back! A day late and a dollar short. So, I found this picture in my photo collection. When did I marry Aristotle Onassis? I suppose I could do worse than a Greek shipping magnate. I spent all cruise looking for my doppelganger and never found her. Side note, when I tried to sneak taking a picture of this picture, I got busted! :loudcry::loudcry: We went to the silent party. Everybody had a great time. Well, not everybody. I wish I had taken video of the lady behind me yowling out Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. :loudcry: I really wish Heather had taken video of my wonderfully phrased and beautifully performed, Shaggy's It Wasn't Me. maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1021 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Thursday was Cozumel day. Ah, Cozumel, a quaint fishing village with a drinking problem. At the advice of many, we were trying the Cozumel Bar Hop for the first time. I was wearing my drinking shirt. Now that I've met Courtney, though, I think it should be her Trivia shirt. Getting ready for the Hop. Here we all are, sober as a judge, let's see how we look 5 hours from now. This guy was on the tour with us. Now, this is the God's honest truth. Bob, don't delete this because I have the records to prove it. I am a Fukker. Yes, what people have been saying for years is actually true. Here's a quote from our family information on Ancestry.com. "Harry was the son of Dutch parents, Hendrikus and Johanna (Versluis) Fukker, who at his birth were living in the Mile End Old Town section of London's East End. Young Harry had arrived in New York with his mother and several siblings in February 1903 from Liverpool on the SS "Umbria", joining his father, a cigar-maker born in Rotterdam in 1872." Enough history, let's get back to Cozumel. The man in the Fokker's shirt was a very formidable looking man. But, he had a pretty, pretty secret. maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1022 Share Posted October 8, 2017 This is the man who took the "Big Ass" photo for us. I think he and Heather are engaged now, he kept muttering "mas grande". The first stop was Punta Maureena. It was gorgeous there.
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1023 Share Posted October 8, 2017 But, we weren't there for the scenery. We added some nachos. The next stop was Coconuts, I didn't think to take a picture until we were leaving. That helps explain why I was humping the sign. We had to climb many steps to get there. When we arrived, there was a parrot to greet us. It was the kind of classy place that has license plates and women's thongs hanging on the walls and ceiling. You know it's a high class joint when there's a sculpture of two cats humping on the bar. And, the award for most uses of the word "humping" in a post goes to... maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1024 Share Posted October 8, 2017 They had an alligator named Wilma. They said she was real, but, she never moved. I tried to get our host, Javier, to put his hand inside the cage to find out, but, he wouldn't do it. I'd had quite a bit to drink at that point, so, I just ordered a glass of ice water, Wait, water with a lime in it? No, that's right, it was a Margarita and that wedge of lime was the only lime in it. It was pure tequila. Eventually, I had to take a break from drinking it to go enjoy the view. The next stop was Playa Bonita. By that time, all thoughts of taking pictures of signs had been flushed out of my head by tequila. As we walked in, I told Heather I probably shouldn't drink at this bar. Once we got settled at a table, I headed to the ladies' room and told her to order me a Margarita. Ah, the joys of memory loss. This is what I came back to. Just so you know, this is considered a medium. We all had to work on this one.
maureencruiser Posted October 8, 2017 #1025 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Eventually, Heather and I realized the drink wasn't disappearing as it should be and we were going to run out of time. Rhonda (Captain Buzzkill) had stopped drinking a long time ago. So, we decided to make it a contest, passing the Margarita back and forth between the two of us and watching how low we could make it go. For example, this is where I started. And, this is where I finished. As you can see by my pin, they heard us talking about my birthday, so I got "special treats". One was a 3 feet tall "fertility" statue that gives new meaning to the phrase "piece of wood". I'll see if I can get a picture of it from Heather, no one thought to grab my camera. I also got tequila shots from a similarly shaped dispenser. ;p I'll post the next few shots in a separate post so Bob can delete if he has to.
