Catching NFL Games on Anthem

On the Anthem now. We were not able to watch Sunday’s game as it was on Fox. There were lots of disappointed Eagles fans in the pub. Our cruise director said broadcast choices are not up to RCI.

In October they had 2 games at 4. What was the second game?

BTW it didn't matter that it was on Fox.

They are but my guess is the accounting dept doesn't want to pay for them.

I was on the Anthem in September during the week 1 games. They showed the Eagle/Redskin game on both the lido big screen and one of the tvs in Michael's (the other game was, oddly, Jags/Texans). The late afternoon game was Packers/Seahawks shown only in Michael's. They showed the Sunday and Monday nights games on the lido screen and Michael's. Also, all games were on in the stateroom TVs. Seems that they showed whatever games garnered national interest or played on national TV.

There are three standard excuses

1) We have no control

2) Miami makes the game choices

3) All North American ships have the same games, so your home port is irrelevant

CDs have told me more than once Miami purchases the rights to these games.

Only recently have they started to show 2 games each at 1 PM and 4 PM. When they had only 1 game at each time the network that got the nationally televised 4 PM game also got the 1 PM game. (CBS or FOX) I think RCI is finally realizing they can fill up a few bars with football on Sunday afternoon. Until they improve the satellite technology and get more HD they are destined to fail.

We'll be on FOS during the NFC title game which might, just might, involve the Vikings ... I assume the NFC and AFC title games will be on the ship somewhere in a bar?

Probably the pool big screen and the On Air Club on deck 3, aft stairs/elevators.

OP,

You should have no problem seeing this weeks game against Seattle as it's the only game on at 8:30pm.

The Eagles were on the Monday night game against the Redskins when we were on the Adventure at the end of October.

The game was on. Not in the Sports bar but at the Pub across the promenade.

The little pub was jam packed while the big sports bar had about 4 people in it all night.

On Adventure you could even bet on the games in the casino.

GO BIRDS!

We just got back from Grandeur, and did not have Eagles/Bears game. We were able to stream on Sling until the game was so uneven that they switched to a “more competitive” game.

On a whim, we tried Sunday ticket and it worked, which definitely didn’t work on Anthem. It makes me think that maybe the Anthem IP is/was considered international...which means you MIGHT be able to buy the game for like $5.

I guess that's one advantage to having the older geosync internet on Grandeur.:)

We will be on the Allure Sunday . . . and my DIEHARD Eagles fan husband is counting on seeing his Eagles play Sunday night somewhere!

Should not be a problem, they usually show the Sunday night game.

Last November/Dec on the Allure we were watching the Eagles/Packers game in On-Air.

At around 11pm they abruptly turned it off so they could start karaoke.

There was a lot of booing by both Packers and Eagles fans so they put it back on for 15 minutes. After that the game was still not over, they apologized but said they must start karaoke.

By then the result was not in question so we hung out in karaoke, had a blast and went every night after that.
