We are sailing on the 27 July Millennium from Seward to Vancouver. Noticed that when I log onto my vacation planner, a banner pops up saying that select excursions are on sale for another 28 hours (midnight Monday 18 December is my guess. EST? CST? Not sure).

I wanted to pass this along to my cruisecritic family. Well, while you are here reading this thread, please tell me your favorite Alaska excursions, and why. Thanks!

We went to Alaska this past summer and we really enjoyed the Whale watching in Icy Straits:). We did not book thru the ship as we went with a private party and there were only 6 people on our vessel and we were out there 3 full hours. The other excursion we really enjoyed was in Juneau and we went to the Glacier by Helicopter and that was absolutely breathtaking:):). Hope that helps with your ideas and enjoy:):).

The sale states 'UP to 20%' off select excursions. Nothing to get too excited about as on my last cruise, I saved a whopping $6 total off the 4 selected excursions I purchased....so $1.50 off each excursion. It was really about 2% off by purchasing these during the sale. They were great excursions so not meaning to sound ungrateful.

As mentioned the helicopter in Juneau is wonderful, pricey but worth it, also in Skagway the White Pass railroad also pricey. We have done both but we have been to Alaska 3 times and one on each cruise of the pricey ones. Also the whale watching is wonderful really doesn't matter which port they are all great. Mendenhall glacier is great for a bus/car tour in Juneau if you don't go on helicopter.

There is so much to see in Alaska you can't see it all on one cruise.
