ol'skool Posted February 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2018 I have sponsored 5 quilting cruises for our Quilt store in CO. I am looking for other suggestions for ships that can accommodate our group size of 25-30 quilters. We have been using NCL up to this point with good results, but wanted to look at other options with different itineraries. Thank you for your help in advance. ol'skool Posted February 20, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Thank you for your response. We need an actual meeting room where we can set up our sewing machines and work tables for the duration of the cruise.
SbbquilterUT Posted February 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Perhaps a start would be to look at which ships other quilt cruises use. There were conference rooms on the Celebrity Eclipse.
TheOldBear Posted February 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2018 The QM2 has classrooms forward on deck 2, and some additional meeting rooms on deck 1 that do not show on most published deck plans [e.g. the 'knightsbridge room' near the 'd' lifts and staircase has a piano guests may use for practice]. paul929207 Posted February 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2018 On the Royal Princess there is a conference room that ur Roll Call was able to reserve for meeting, games, pre-excursion meeting, etc. I would suggest calling the cruise line(s) that interest you. Rare Essiesmom Posted February 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Most Carnival ships have at least one large conference room that can be divided into smaller rooms. On Magic it was one of the muster stations. EM

I think Navigator.. basically any of the ships that have a meeting room that can be secured. one of the cruises I was on had just such a group on board. one meeting rooms was locked off for them the entire week. everyone unpacked their machines and other supplies and just left them in the room. might have been Grandeur. I was on both in quick succession a couple of years ago.

SadieN Posted February 27, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 27, 2018 There was a quilting group on one of our Carnival Miracle Hawaii Cruises. They had their machines set out in a room on deck two by the MDR the whole cruise. They displaced the Art Auction folks. No idea how many were in the group. Miracle’s sisters are the Spirit, Pride and Legend.
kasil Posted March 1, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2018 You could also do a web search for "CME cruise" (continuing medical education). They CME cruises that I've been on had over 50 attendees and met in a good sized conference room. That might help you narrow down the list of possibilities.
