possum52 Posted July 2, 2018 #51 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Whittaker chocolate is readily available throughout the country. It is often on special at one of the major supermarket chains alternating almost on a weekly basis. Normal retail of a 250 gM block is around $4.50 and the smaller Artisan block around $3.00. Bean41, how much usually are the slab/bars in supermarkets? Thanks, Leigh
Beanb41 Posted July 2, 2018 #52 Share Posted July 2, 2018 The prices quoted are the normal retail prices in supermarkets when not on special. Smaller shops like souvenir and airport shops can be as much as $2 a block dearer

Some IGA stores here stick it. As for 'pineapple lumps' not had those, but being a pineapple freak, would like to try it. Cannot cop that salted caramel chocolate or ice cream, not to my taste. But perusing these posts, certainly a wonderful array of confectionery available in the 'Shaky Isles.' Most of it not available on the 'big island. Beanb41 Posted August 19, 2018 #56 Share Posted August 19, 2018 A word of warning. If you purchase Whittackers chocolate at the airport you will pay for the privilege. Whereas in a supermarket one can expect to pay between $NZ4 and $4.50 for a block. At the airport it maybe closer to $8 a block. If any one has travelled through Aussie airports and seen the price of Tim Tam biscuits. $2.50 in the Supermarket often over $5 at the airport

CupcakeSusie Posted August 24, 2018 #60 Share Posted August 24, 2018 Our local Coles has a Kiwi aisle - we are so lucky to be able to get great treats regularly now. But we still found extra special treats in NZ. If you can find a Remarkables Sweet Shop it’s very much worth your time and money.
