xavier Posted August 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2018 It appears from the deck plans on Princess that the Aft suites on the Regal vary in size. Some look considerably wider than others. Is this true? or just not a exact deck plan rendering? Anyone have any experience/favorite aft suite aboard the Regal?
cruzsnooze Posted August 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2018 when you are on the deck plans with the rooms just click on a cabin and it will show you the square footage so you can compare cabin sizes.
capriccio Posted August 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2018 It's the balconies that differ in size and coverage. Be aware that the interior is not nearly as spacious as the larger suites on other Princess ships.
Rare azbirdmom Posted August 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Definitely different sizes! We've had one on Aloha deck and it's very narrow. The deck plan pictures definitely show the approximate size differences. I would go with Dolphin deck if it's available.
capriccio Posted August 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Definitely different sizes! We've had one on Aloha deck and it's very narrow. The deck plan pictures definitely show the approximate size differences. I would go with Dolphin deck if it's available. The balconies of the Dolphin Deck aft suites are amazing - extremely large and partially covered. I haven't heard many complaints about soot and exhaust smells on the Regal (they were a big problem on the Royal in December 2013 when we were in D727). One drawback for some folks might be that the concierge lounge isn't really convenient. It is on the Riviera Deck (5 decks up) and toward mid ship. We only dropped in once and weren't impressed so never returned.
john_galt Posted August 6, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2018 I booked a PH on Dolphin for the Sky. Supposed to be 682 sq. ft. as opposed to 591 on Caribe or Aloha. Baja is 665. Difference is balcony size.

Crown Cruiser Posted August 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Have stayed in full suites on both Dolphin and Riviera. The balconies on Riviera (730 and 731) are even bigger than Dolphin. Best in my opinion.
Water Log Posted August 7, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2018 My favorite is D 726.two rooms and an enormous wrap around balcony
Shaver John Posted August 7, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 7, 2018 We are booked in Marina 723 on the Regal. Anyone know anything about this cabin? Soot, deck looks large from ship plans, etc? Will we get a lot of noise from the floor above?
Robinsoncruiseso Posted August 8, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We stayed in Marina Deck aft on the Regal last year. No issues at all. No soot, very little noise from above.

Rare azbirdmom Posted August 8, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We stayed in Marina Deck aft on the Regal last year. No issues at all. No soot, very little noise from above. We turned that one down as an upsell on our last cruise on the Regal because we were afraid of noise from the deck above and also thought it might get weird having people look down on us from above. Although in fairness we love mini suites with the open balconies on other ships and never worry about everyone looking down on us. If no noise we might give it a try if get the opportunity to sail in one again.

The Balcony I think is the largest and is more covered, other than that the suites are the same inside on all aft decks. There was a soot problem but I think it varied on sailing direction and wind and they were right on it to clean it up.
