Tangoqueen Posted September 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Cunard Personal Cruise Specialists no more! I phoned my “Personal Cruise Specialist” today at Cunard to be told by a P&O lady that those roles are no longer in place. I will email my “Specialist” in the hope that I can speak with her regarding a query but think it’s sad that after receiving this 1:1 care it’s no longer available. majortom10 Posted September 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2018 I am surprised they have lasted as long as they have because P&O got rid of theirs some time ago.

Tangoqueen Posted September 10, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Thanks for the head's-up. Checked, and pleased to post our specialist is still with us. Do you still have yours? Mine apparently still works at Cunard but will hopefully speak by email tomorrow. From what I was told today she will be available by email but I can’t just get through using her tel ext any longer. I’ll know more over the next few days. Fingers crossed I can still use her services. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Bigmike911 Posted September 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I have had excellent Cruise Consultants at Cunard and in the past and more recently not excellent. I have gone the Travel Agent route, and I am far more satisfied.
tv24 Posted September 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 11, 2018 IMHO, you're much better off with a good TA.

wripro Posted September 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Why would they be more specialised than a Cunard one Sent from my iPhone using Forums Because they ll be working for you, not Cunard. And a really good knowledgeable TA usually knows far more than people working at a desk at a cruise line.
luckymal Posted September 13, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Because theyll be working for you, not Cunard. And a really good knowledgeable TA usually knows far more than people working at a desk at a cruise line. Very true what you say, the T/A we use have been on many cruises with different lines, but I would also think, if you work for a Cruise line, does not mean you have cruised.😉
majortom10 Posted September 13, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Just thinking of a "cruise specialist" at a local branch of national chain of TAs in the UK. I used to work with her husband and he told me to be "cruise specialist" for the branch all she had to do was spend an afternoon visit to a P&O ship on changeover day in Southampton which was arranged for all agents by the company nationally.
