LrgPizza Posted September 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Is there wifi at Cococay? I've purchased the Voom stream service for my upcoming Mariner of the Seas cruise. I'm wondering if I will be able to surf while on land. Does the ship's Voom reach the island, or is there wifi on the island? I generally stay disconnected when cruising, but I'm traveling alone, and it's imperative that I stay in contact with home. Obviously if I can't while on the island it's no big deal at all, I was just wondering.

FLACRUISER99 Posted September 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2018 As of today (11-Sep-2018), there is no guest accessible WiFi on Coco Cay.When they dock instead of tender you should be able to pick up the ship if your not too far away. Biker19 Posted September 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2018 When they dock, starting around November, instead of tender you should be able to pick up the ship if your not too far away. ^ updated.
crystalspin Posted September 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2018 If they have re-listed a cruise to stop at Nassau instead of CocoCay (in December) what are chances of them changing it back to CocoCay?
Biker19 Posted September 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Unlikely, this change is probably for building the new venues on the island and that is not likely to change. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

LrgPizza Posted September 12, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) When they dock instead of tender you should be able to pick up the ship if your not too far away. Oh wow! I didn’t know they were going to start docking sometime in November. Maybe that will hit my cruise. I haven’t tendered for about 13 years. LOL! EDIT: NEVER MIND. I just read another post that said it’s been pushed back to January. Edited September 12, 2018 by LrgPizza
Ourusualbeach Posted September 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2018 As part of the upgrades to the island they will be adding wifi throughout and not just relying on you being able to pick it up from the ship. There was no mention of the timing for this.
Rare twangster Posted November 22, 2018 #11 Share Posted November 22, 2018 They are now starting to advertise Voom will work at 'Perfect Day'. This is from a November 2019 cruise. No idea when wifi coverage will start being offered, presumably at some point between May 2019 and November 2019.

Bahama Telephone Company. Works with TMobile. Have friends with Vz that works with their $10 per day INTL pass. AT&T works as well based on your INTL roaming package. It's been that way since August 2017 when I first noticed cell coverage there.
