Goofyfanatic Posted October 3, 2018 #76 Share Posted October 3, 2018 Hmmm, the pizza is at 92% guest satisfaction. That seems pretty good to me. Why spend the effort and money to get it to 95%? They should spend it on improving the food that is less than 90% guest satisfaction. Having said that, with the exception of not having enough variety, I think the pizza is just fine. Of course, I'm usually eating at 2 am after stumbling out of the casino. Ketchup on a piece of cardboard would be tasty at that hour. You must be my twin!! Rare John&LaLa Posted October 3, 2018 #77 Share Posted October 3, 2018 Wasn't always that way. Royal had some great Desserts 25-30yrs ago...Back when they had Midnight Buffet every night, one would be the Grand and another a Chocolate Midnight Buffet... Doing midnight buffets and old menus during the 50th birthday bash next year. And wait for it..... Goofyfanatic Posted October 3, 2018 #78 Share Posted October 3, 2018 The ship has some limited leeway. One example I remember was from Explorer a few years ago. They offered the Kummelweck (roast beef) sandwich, on the Royal Promenade, right outside of Cafe Promenade. This is something that is normally limited to Park Cafe venues, which are not on Voyager/Freedom class ships. Sadly Bob the Kummelweck sandwich was not available on Explorer last week. I know that they are also available on Anthem in the cafe outside 270 which isn't a park cafe.
Beachammo Posted October 3, 2018 #79 Share Posted October 3, 2018 I thought the desserts on our Brilliance TA were poor. Of the items on the menu each night, 5 repeated. How many apple pie a la mode’s can you eat? A lot of the other pie choices were toped with meringue— which is fine if you like it. Not so much if you don’t. I agree—- have another appetizer and skip the dessert, no loss. mac_tlc Sent from my iPhone using Forums 100% agree..... My wife thinks that Royal makes bad desserts on purpose. We've had a few that were decent....but most have too much gelatin added to add consistancy. All the cakes are bland. Kid's brownie seems to always be good choice when I get dessert. Bob.....i disagree on that "Key Lime" pie. Just doesn't have the tart taste it is suppose to have. The pizza on the TA was a step back for us. I started seeing some improvement at the beginning of the year.....but the pizza on Brilliance was equal to frozen pizza from the grocery store. How can pepperoni have no taste?? The bacon for breakfast was also strange. Some days it was good and others it was tasteless?? I've come to expect the food to be mediocre on a cruise and become unexpectedly happy when I get something great. I'm talking to you Pasta Carbonara at Giovanni's. We don't judge our cruise by the food. If we did, we would never cruise again. The Brilliance TA was FANTASTIC because of the people and crew we met and being on the sea in a wonderful ship that has ocean views wherever we go. Can't get that in Vegas! VaTech8912 Posted October 3, 2018 #80 Share Posted October 3, 2018 And IMO Celebrity doesn't do great desserts all the time either. Personal tastes. Agree, we had very few "great" desserts on our Celebrity Summit cruise. Most had very little taste at all and definitely needed more sugar. I do not consider ice cream a dessert however, so that may be good. Just not my thing.
Clarea Posted October 3, 2018 #81 Share Posted October 3, 2018 1 ... Bob.....i disagree on that "Key Lime" pie. Just doesn't have the tart taste it is suppose to have. ... Must have changed then, because it used to have a strong tart taste.
Beachammo Posted October 3, 2018 #82 Share Posted October 3, 2018 Must have changed then, because it used to have a strong tart taste.Probably get a different result based on ship and pastry chef. We haven't found it yet. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
