PeaAtSea Posted October 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2018 Hi Everyone, My wife and I just booked our first cruise on Ovation of the seas, It will be our 2nd time cruising with Royal Caribbean, First cruise was 4 years ago on Voyager of the seas. My question to anyone who has recently been on board, Is Kung Fu Panda Noodle still on board? I have seen it in many YouTubers videos but fail to find any information on the venue on RCI website. Any info much appreciated :):)

megsie Posted October 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2018 On the RC site it states that Johnny Rockets is coming to Ovation, presumably where Kung Fu Noodle is currently. Unfortunately it doesn’t say when but obviously to suit the soon to be US, Alaska market. With the recent dry dock some of us are wondering if it may have been changed already? Worst news ever haha I really liked the look of the noodle place but I won't be on board till March 2019!! Well at least I know I like Johnny Rockets [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960F using Forums mobile app

Kung Fu Noodle was always empty on our cruise in January. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
megsie Posted October 3, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2018 It doesn’t surprise me that the right doesn’t know what the left is doing with RC. I don’t know why they would put it on their website if there is no intention to do it. But it would make sense to do it (Johnny Rockets) for the US market as we thought it was an underused area and not very well patronised on the Aus cruises on Ovation. Chiliburn Posted October 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2018 I don’t think I’ve seen anyone in kung fu panda. Johnny Rockets is advertising it on thier website a friend told me.
Rare Port Power Posted October 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted October 5, 2018 How the tide has turned! On Quantum of the Seas, Johnny Rocket was removed during the cruise and replaced by King Fu Panda for the Chinese home-base market.
The_Big_M Posted October 6, 2018 #10 Share Posted October 6, 2018 When did quantum have JR? It’s always had panda as it operates in Asian waters.

Rare Port Power Posted October 6, 2018 #12 Share Posted October 6, 2018 When did quantum have JR? It’s always had panda as it operates in Asian waters. I was on brand new Quantum during that relocation cruise to China. It definitely had Johnny Rockets. The restaurant was remodelled during our cruise because the ship was heading to the Chinese market. All the signage in Mandarin was put up during that time as well. ABeeKeeper Posted October 24, 2018 #13 Share Posted October 24, 2018 I just read on one of the FB groups that it has been changed over today to a Fish & Chip cafe on the run into Fremantle.

I can confirm this, our friends are currently on the Ovation and had said the same thing. To the OP, we and our friends had tried the Kung Fu Panda the last time we were both on the Ovation (NYE 2017) and we were all disappointed. There was better noodles in the buffet, obviously we were not the only ones with that opinion as the place was always empty after the first couple of days. Our last cruise on her was May this year as an HK to japan return cruise (with a large Asian contingent) and it was empty whenever we passed it. I don't think you are missing out on anything much with it gone.
megsie Posted October 24, 2018 #15 Share Posted October 24, 2018 Radiance changed Rita’s Cantina to the Crab Shack specialising in seafood with those huge crab legs sometime ago but I don’t think it’s there any longer. But it seems a reasonable change for Ovation in heading eventually to Alaska.
