Lady Hudson Posted October 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2018 If a cabin mate can’t go at the last minute — does the new solo get double points? Does it matter if you call Royal to cancel or better just to be a no show? Any experience, anyone? Katherine
Rare little britain Posted October 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2018 (edited) If you call to cancel him off they will/may reprice the booking to the current solo price which may be a lot more then you paid initially. You could always call and ask “what if...” If this is the case that it would be a higher cost, just leave him on as a no show. You will get a refund of his port fees, taxes and tips. You will definitely also get double points. If this doesn’t automatically happen, just call/email them and they will add them on. molly361 Posted October 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Yes you get double points. I would not call just have them be a no show like the above poster said

cb at sea Posted October 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2018 "Last minute" means they are past the "refundable" period. They have your money, and really don't care if either of you show up! Just let them be a "no show"...you can tell them when you check in.
Ontario Cruiser Posted October 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2018 So if it is past final payment can they change the pricing if they are notified of one person cancelling? Ontario Cruiser
Lady Hudson Posted October 19, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted October 19, 2018 Thanks for all the responses. I called the casino department (how I booked) and should be ok with a cancellation, if necessary. Do not know just yet. Here’s hoping to get the same response if I call again. On My last cruise my daughter had to cancel at the last minute. I just did a no show. Taxes and fees refunded. I received the extra points for sailing solo. Ontario Cruiser Yes, they wanted to with me, the price shot up to 220% 🤑🤯... which is why I left him on as a no show 😇!

Can you tell me how you received the extra points? I recently cruised alone after my traveling companion was a no-show. It was a 3 night cruise and I received 3 points. I called Crown & Anchor and they will not give me more points saying that because I didn't originally book the room as a single with 200% single supplement, that I am not entitled to the additional 3 points. I even spoke to a supervisor who said the same thing.

Double for the single sailing and an Extra point per night for the suite.
SRF Posted May 16, 2019 #13 Share Posted May 16, 2019 And just to be clear, it is not "double" points. 1 point per night for cruise + 1 point per night in a suite + 1 point per night if solo in a cabin for 2 or more.
