I am on Oasis now with the slot promotion. The casino loads your sea pass card with the promotion and bonus. At the machine, you select how much you want to play. I played $30 on a machine and have to play the 30 on that machine. After the 30 is played you can cash out. I won 200 on the 30 played and cashed out. Went to another machine and loaded 30 on that one. Depending on how lucky you are, you just keep cashing out once promo played and then add an additional promo play.

So are you saying that once you cash out, you can take that cashout ticket to the casino cashier and get cash for the entire amount?

You can't cash out promo, but anything you win will cash out.

I called Club Royale to find out why this is no longer offered in the Cruise Planner.  They said it was removed indefinitely, but for anyone who purchased it already, it would be honored.  I guess their original intention was not to give points for the purchase amount or the free play.

It is still available for purchase on  my December cruise.

And this is how it should (but doesn’t) work on tables..  play through the promo chips once...not indefinitely.

I don't play slots, so I don't know exactly how it works, so please bear with me.

Say someone has $200 in promo play.  They load this into the slot machine, use $50 to win $100.

They cash out.  Are there two cashout tickets, one for $150 in promo play and one for $100 in winnings?  Or is there one cashout ticket that is somehow encoded with two different types of funds, $150 in promo play and $100 in winnings?

And that's why I just purchased the slot credits and not the chips.  Was going to do both but not the way the current chips promo works.

When you cash out , the winnings are on the cash out ticket.  Any promo play left stays as credits in the machine that you have to play.

Bob, I'm not a ship right now (unfortunately), so I can't say for sure how this is working.  However, in land casinos, the promo amount is loaded onto your card.  Therefore, if you load $30 of your promo money and have $50 credit after you've bet $30 (thirty $1 spins, for example), when you cash out you will get a $50 voucher that can be cashed.  You can then stay at that machine, or go to another one, and load more of your promo amount.

It disappeared from all 4 of my upcoming cruises.

There was a discussion about this a couple of days ago.  While it has dupissapeared for many it is still available for some.  It appears to be available for those cruising in December / early January.

perhaps they want to sets it out before offering it to all.

That's an easy example because you wagered all of your loaded promo funds.  I'm more curious about what happens when you cash out and the machine is still loaded with a combination of promo funds and winnings.

The issue, if the above poster is correct, you need to play the promo money you downloaded to the machine or lose it.  If you download $50 and do only 40 $1 spins and cash out, the other $10 is lost.  So you need to make sure you spin at least 50 times before you cash out in order not to leave any of the promo money unused.

On the table side, unlike the slots, you need to account for wins in your counting of hands that need to be played.  In other words if you have $1,000 in promo and lose 10 $100 hands the promo is gone.  If you play and whatever hands you win, you need to play that promo chip again.  Technically, you could never lose a hand on the ship and lose the $1,000 cash you paid to get the $1,000 in promo chips since they sound like they are only playable on the cruise you bought them on and can't be redeemable for cash if you are still holding them at the end of the cruise.

It will let you cash out your winnings and leave the balance of the unused promo fund you loaded onto that machine.

For example you loaded $30 on a $1 machine and on 20 spins you won $40.  When you cash out you will get a $40 cashable voucher and there will still be $10 left of promo funds left in the machine which must be played out (10 more $1 spins).

You can't cash out the promo, so you play it out or you walk away and forfeit it (not that anybody would do that).  You can't cash out the promo once you've loaded it.

OK, thanks much. I think I understand now.

If you have $1000 in promo funds, you go up to a machine, you can control how much of that promo money is loaded.  You don't have to load the entire amount, but whatever you load must be played or it's gone.

Thanks for confirming.  I wonder how many people are going to be really confused when they try to use their promo funds.  I can see some long lines of frustrated people at the casino cashier.

As long as all of the "free/Promo" play that was downloaded has been played through.

That is how promo slot play always works.

I'll be taking IOS this thurs, and have purchased the $1k table-chip gig.  Have been promised by Casino Royal (by 2 separate reps) that I will be given 1K in 'real' chips, $75 in 'promo' chips, and a $10 lottery ticket.  Also been promised that the 1K can be cashed in at any time.

I'll will provide the 'how-it-really-works' process when I return home.
