My 12 year old son just said if he was a cruise ship captain he'd honk like a total nut too!  We'll be on the Oosterdam a week from today!!!

That's awesome. He'll love it.

Get an address. My people will go over an have a chat.

Why would anyone work or live near a busy cruise port and complain about toots. I think the yachts with turbo motors are much louder and they hurt my ears.

I'm impressed, as is the neighborhood. The brass bell people, the air horn people and the guy* with the railroad/18-wheeler truck horn are in play.

* - I assume it's a guy. That's probably insensitive of me because lots of women** have railroad horns on their balconies here in God's Waiting Room.

** - Or non-gendered people who identify as such.

Me thinks you've got them pretty much all covered :classic_cool:

It's actually the container ships and freighters, late at night that wake you up.

How to put this delicately?  When a man reaches a certain age, he feels the "call of nature" at odd hours.

I'm probably older than you - I know exactly what you mean.

I'm not sayin' that I have caught a lot of sail-ins inadvertently,  but that's what happened.

Remember how you had elderly relatives who could tell when it was going to rain because of their knees or elbows? It's like that.

Sounds like I didn't miss a great show by a whole lot.

Roy

Oostie was really good as usual, but the Royal Princess was one and done.  We did get an extra toot from both Indy of the Seas and Caribbean Princess, but nothing to compare with the Oosterdam.  Hope you are enjoying your cruise Roy.  I am following both your and Kathi's threads on the HAL forum.
