sunlover5 Posted March 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2019 We will be going to Manhattan Seaport on a Sunday morning. A nice, good priced hotel is before the Queensboro Bridge. Silly question, but should we be concerned with problems, traffic, etc. getting across to the port.?? Thank you so much for any replies. We won't be site seeing. Just flying in the night before the cruise. Thanks again!!
Rare Noxequifans Posted March 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2019 Sunday is usually not a problem except when there are special events happening. Check the date of your cruise to see if there are any.
Nitemare Posted March 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2019 Agreed. On a Sunday there shouldn't be any problem. If you are self driving be prepared for a toll

lenquixote66 Posted March 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2019 We have friends who flew in from Calif last August to cruise from the Manhattan Seaport. They stayed at the Watson Hotel on W.57 st. between 9 and 10th.ave and walked to the cruiseport. They said the hotel was great. If you have not booked your hotel as yet you might want to check this out. Rare Noxequifans Posted March 10, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2019 Suggest reading the reviews in TripAdvisor for the Watson. Too many poor and terrible ratings.
njhorseman Posted March 10, 2019 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2019 The Watson is the old Holiday Inn. I prefer to look at oyster.com for hotel ratings. You get their professional editorial opinion, not hundreds of anonymous negative rants or glowing praise posted by people who may not have even stayed there. Per oyster.com this hotel has "some maintenance issues", probably because it's an older property. They rate it at 3 stars out of a possible 5, not horrible but not great. A hotel with a great rating will be very costly.
