I wish we could move it to this August, instead of 2020! Yes you do have the free dinner the first night. On a positive note, there will be a lot of promos between now and next spring. Keep a watch on the price and the promo - if there is a better price or promo, you can call Princess and switch to that promo. For example - this summer they may run Sip and Sail (free drink package) - you can call and if it is financially beneficial for you to change to that promo, you can re-fare your fare. You will give up any promos you have now but will gain what they have. You have to balance what you have with your current price with the new promo and new price. After that, there is often 3 for free. Just check prices periodically or even call Princess and say "is there a better price or promo for my sailing". You may end up with some OBC or benefit such as free drinks after all. Good luck.
lightink2 Posted April 13, 2019 Author #27 Share Posted April 13, 2019 Transferred to a TA and received $950 OBC/cash card (my choice of how to split it). That's great and I'll keep an eye out for what your described above, Coral. Thank you.

Then just check with the TA on price reductions/promos in the future or watch CC as they are always posted here.

That is probably the best coupon. I am sure you will have a great trip to Alaska! Thanks for the follow up. The bad news is that Coupon Book is the one that everyone gets from Princess and does not have the 1st night BoGo Coupon that is the the TA Cruise Night Coupon book ☹️ Do continue to monitor future Princess Sales between now and Final to refare for a possible better deal 😀 Consider transferring your booking to a Cruise Specialist TA now for a better deal now 😉 Edited April 13, 2019 by MCC retired

She gave me $950 in OBC/cash card and a coupon book. We are in a suite so our 1st night specialty meals will be included. Thanks!

If it is the Cruise Night book, it may include a free 375ml bottle of wine redeemable at specialty dining room or a BOGO beverage coupon redeemable in one of the lounges. Steelers36 Posted April 14, 2019 #32 Share Posted April 14, 2019 If they put a BOGO on Specialty Dining for first night in every cabin, it would be a zoo 20x worse than trying to book Sanctuary on a Caribbean cruise.

What % of cruise passengers do you think even look at the coupon book on embarkation day?

The CruiseNight books come from booking with a TA and not Princess (if I remember correctly). I should have figured that out when the OP posted. I ignore the other coupon book. For an upcoming cruise booked thru a Princess PVP, both my confirmation and Travel Summary list a Cruise Night Coupon Book, along with additional OBC above the amount offered with the promo I booked under. Hence my above comment to the OP.
