wee mo Posted April 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2019 Hoping to book this cruise and wondering if one side is preferable for views. Thank-you.

When going by the Volcano the ship does a 360 so both sides get a view if there is anything to see. I've been 3 times and have yet to see anything so you can't count on seeing any lava. lovecruzin Posted April 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2019 You won’t be able to see land for the sea days and once on Hawaii 2 of the ports are tender. Hilo is industrial and no real view. Perhaps starboard for sunsets, but that may not be accurate! Choose a cabin you like and for this itinerary don’t worry which side. 😀
wee mo Posted April 18, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Thanks for replies. What about catching suns rays on my balcony during sea days?
lola2013 Posted April 18, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Have you considered a Sunset Verandah? We did that a few years ago; sailing east to Vancouver, the sunsets were beautiful!
jsf Posted April 18, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2019 We are sailing this route in about 1 week, we have a starboard cabin near the aft and I will let you know when we return about the view. J.
Ontario Cruiser Posted April 18, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Portside for daytime sun when westbound and starboard for eastbound Ontario Cruiser
wee mo Posted April 19, 2019 Author #10 Share Posted April 19, 2019 Thank-you for information and advice. Will consider all when making my cabin decision.
SC_Floaters Posted April 19, 2019 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2019 First five days are probably at sea, heading south. Do you want to see the sunrise or sunset... Port for sunrises, Starboard for sunsets. You usually arrive in port early and do not leave until the evenings... (Either Side)
