Achieving Platinum status halfway through cruise

Recommended Posts

I am four nights away from being Platinum and have an upcoming seven night cruise.  Carnival said that I would be Platinum for this cruise (since I'll achieve it halfway through the sailing).  I know I'll get priority boarding, but will my luggage be delivered to the room early like Faster To The Fun?  The last time I had FTTF, my luggage tags had the logo on it, but since I won't start with Platinum, my luggage tags won't be marked with any indication.  I asked the Carnival rep, but she did not know.  Does anybody know how this works?

As mentioned above, you will be Platinum the entire cruise.  All of your paper work will reflect this, including your luggage tags, will say Priority and/or Platinum.  Your Sail and Sign card will be Platinum and you will receive all the benefits of Platinum for your entire cruise, including your luggage having priority when being delivered.  Enjoy your cruise and your new Platinum benefits!

We make Gold on day 1 ( heck I just want few drink) and my status still shows Red. Is it only Platinum and above that triggers durning cruise. We have a suite so I know we get those benefits, but it's all about the "Free" drink. Platinum on Princess, but no drink, just free wifi.

How far out is your cruise?  My status showed Gold until about 5 months ago when it changed to Platinum for my cruise in May.

It's probably because I went on a cruise in December and that changed the status of my cruise in May.

Well, the good news is that if you get priority on this cruise, instead of checking your bags, you could carry one on and take it right to your cabin.  If you pack light enough, you might be able to get away with checking no bags.

We try to pack with one bag each and a backpack , and a rolling cooler.  This way, it’s easy for everyone to carry their own bag on without assistance and drop it off right in the room.  I am usually done unpacking before muster. Btw, I am not a light packer, but I make it work between my bag and my husband/ son bag, so I cross-pack a lot.  Technically, I usually have 2 suitcases, and one of them has the luxury of rolling my 2nd bag while I roll the cooler with the drinks inside.

My wife and I are just the opposite. We have always dropped off luggage with porters, even on short 3-4 day cruises.  Even though we are Platinum, we always go right to the atrium bar when boarding.  Often it is several hours before we stop by our cabin, although lately one of us has stopped by the room earlier to get the S&S cards.
