Curly-Q Posted April 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2019 We've sailed in a Signature Suite on the Westerdam and there was a large, wall mounted TV opposite the bed. Can anyone tell me if the Nieuw Amsterdam Signature and Neptune suites have this feature as well? I looked, but I can't find any info. Thanks! WoodtreeYJ Posted April 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2019 We had the large wall mounted TV in a regular veranda room on Nieuw Amsterdam a few years ago, so presumably it would be in the suites higher than the veranda.
RMLincoln Posted April 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2019 Here's a photo from the website with HAL facts, NA, SS 5096. Looks like the TV is on the desk and there is a picture across from the bed. Other pictures on that site show a very shallow balcony, no loungers only chairs. Not sure about the Neptune Suites but there are probably photos on that site of ns also, I didn't do an exhaustive search. Google for HAL facts. m--
fatcat04 Posted April 23, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2019 We were invited to "tea" plus wine in a NS this last cruise on NA in Feb and there was a lovely large flat screen mounted to the wall over the sofa. Our VC cabin had one too, across from the bed. Very nice. We enjoyed the on demand programs with late night pizza or cookies and milk.
fatcat04 Posted April 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2019 You can just see the side of it in this pic but that gives you an idea and this is a verandah cabin so the ones in suites are bigger.
Rare POA1 Posted April 23, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2019 It was wall mounted on the NA in an SS. There are photos in my Live From thread, but it sounds like it's the same as what you describe.
RMLincoln Posted April 23, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2019 Here is the advertised photo of generic NA SS. Maybe they vary? m--

bEwAbG Posted April 24, 2019 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2019 I was in a SC Neptune in February and a SB Neptune last May on NA (lots of letters). The TV was mounted on the wall in both. Based on the decor in the photos posted above showing TVs on the desk, those are old photos. Cruise Critic has more recent photos of several room types on its ship listing: https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/nieuw-amsterdam-541/neptune-suite-411686/
Walfam Posted April 24, 2019 #11 Share Posted April 24, 2019 Our neptune suite open the Nieuw Amsterdam had the TV on the wall over the sofa, directly across from the bed. Easy to sit in bed and watch TV, if one wishes.

Curly-Q Posted April 24, 2019 Author #13 Share Posted April 24, 2019 Thanks everyone, looks like Holland's pic are due for some updating. We loved having the TV, and Holland's movie selection surpass the other lines we've sailed. Nothing like grabbing some sandwiches and cookies from the lido deck and watching movies from bed on a inclement weather day at sea!
Rare *Miss G* Posted April 24, 2019 #14 Share Posted April 24, 2019 Just one more example of a really bad website. If I was new to HAL I would look at those pics and go elsewhere.
