It better drop or nobody will be able to sail her.  We booked the night she opened and our cabin has doubled in price since then, never did I think I'd have to be paying approximately 6K plus change for a balcony.  And that is the cheaper month of Sept.  Thank goodness we booked when we did.  It will be the most expensive cruise ever for us with Alaska in a primo aft balcony on Solstice costing half of the current quote for a central balcony, infinity at that!  I think she'll be worth it but probably only once.  Our current Allure balcony gty only cost us $1449 out of Galveston.  For what they're quoting I'd expect a Crown Loft.

I agree. We won’t  be sailing on Icon, or Wonder for that matter, given their current pricing. That plus 6998 other Icon passengers. No thanks.

Crowds don't bother me at all, but the price does.  We've been on numerous Oasis class cruises on all the sisters and crowds were not a problem.  The only place I ever notice lots of people are after shows and that is fleetwide even on small ships.  But having to pay $6K plus for something you just booked on Allure for $1449 is retarded! SOOOO glad we booked when we did so at least we can do her once.  I feel she is going to be the flag ship and everybody will want to sail her eventually.  So hope they reduce drastically. Can't wait until we start getting reviews and to watch the agents cruise or Inaugural on Youtube!!  going to watch the Pearl video right now!

No it's not, you weren't paying attention, they can project anything literally anything inside there hopefully.  My thoughts were get up of a morning, the day of the week is displayed along with the ocean if a sea day or the port of call etc.  Boarding day, vids of all of the activities on your cruise etc.

Did you catch the sculpted whale up in the ceiling?  Kool! 1:42 in the vid.

Nice whale sculpture! Although it doesn't show up in all the renders, I hope that it is actually installed! That and the flamingo in Surfside.

So its like the LED galleria on MSC Virtuosa? Pic is ipside down but showed where muster points were as well as led shows, lots of nice moving pictures, the sky, sea, stars. Was good to watchIMG_20230331_171408121.thumb.jpg.51985c8897d4939d02317628acbeefc6.jpg

We started cruising in 2011 and at that time the Oasis was still new and commanding high prices (relative to the other ships) so we stayed away until 2015 until prices came down.

While a bit higher than what we usually paid the prices I got for both the inaugural and our March 2025 cruise on the Icon were reasonable thanks to group rates.

The good thing about Icon and Icon 2 is that they should help keep prices on Oasis class reasonable

I don't think so. I see no indication that the interior of the Pearl is an LED screen or that images will be projected onto the moving panels. Instead, it only showed different mood lighting and various wave motions of the panels. Basically, it seems like a giant, walk-through, kinetic art installation that serves a structural purpose. It allowed them to widen the Royal Promenade and create glass walls on either side without big, ugly pillars in the middle of the space. It's a creative solution to an architectural problem. It's not a special venue or theatrical space.

Just to add - I get the impression that this was an earlier rendering of the promenade. They seem to have been experimenting with a mirrored finish on the exterior of the pearl, plus some of the textures and fixtures and fittings have changed in more recent images.

I was thinking I was going to wait but we were able to get some good group rates too!  Same on Wonder and Utopia.   You must have a great TA too!

In case you didn't see it in another thread, we know where/when the ship will be based on a crew member joining the ship:

"Not sure exactly when the TA will be, but I join the ship Dec 19 in Cadiz."

Think I had read that RCCL was scheduled to take delivery of Icon in October... seems like a long time (~2 months) between delivery and going into service... would suspect other staff outside of casino hosts likely will board ship sooner, but, still...

Will be either that day or very soon after as that timing fits perfectly with some of the things that I have heard are scheduled for early January

They are taking delivery in October, but there will be some features that are incomplete and won’t be finished until Icon is physically in Royal’s hands. For example, during the long scheduled call in Cadiz, Central Park will be fitted with all of its plants as it is just too cold for these to be installed in Turku. There will be other fixtures and fittings that will be added over this period too.

Since the solarium disappeared on Icon class, any details on the new adults only infinity pool area? It seems like that area is a lot smaller than the solarium on Oasis class

I agree that Cloud 17 is probably smaller than an Oasis solarium, but I think Royal are hoping that Surfside and Thrill Island will attract a lot of the kids away from general pool areas, no guarantees though.
