Guarantee Cabin

Hello all.  I have a question about a guarantee.  If I have booked a GTY and been assigned a cabin,

Is it possible to change to a different cabin in the same category.

We will be sailing on Summit and have been assigned Balcony cabin 7019.  We are not sure that we like the location and would like to change.

If it is not something that is done on Celebrity we will be able to live with it but was wondering if it is possible to change.

We have sailed on Celebrity before but have not done a gty before I guess.  We have been able to change on our other cruise line, Princess.

Call your TA if you have one, or the cruise line directly if not. In my experience, Celebrity will allow you to move to another cabin in the same category if it is available.

While we have never done it, it is my understanding that you can change cabins within the same category.

Yes you can do the change

I have booked a Guarantee and I doesn't like the assignment,  my TA to change to another in the same Category. They can denied the change if you are asking to move to a cabin for 4 pax.

We ALWAYS do GTY.  25+ cruises.  The answer is MAYBE.  Most of the time, it will be yes, but not always - especially If the price of the cruise has or us expected to increase.  If there is a price drop, we've never been turned down.

If you used a TA, they have to request the change.  No exceptions.  If your TA used a group rate, it becomes less likely that you will be changed.

 

No one should book a GTY unless they will be happy with the worst cabin in your category.

Yes... We actually got our room assigned today for our Solstice trip in June. I was really hoping to get an aft cabin but didn't so we called Celebrity this morning and they were happy to give us a cabin in the back....same class, easy peasy. I am super excited!

Never booked a guarantee before, but we have one now. Is the cabin ever assigned prior to final payment?

My rule when faced with this type of dilemma is always ask. If you don't ask, the answer is definitely no. Good luck.
