miched Posted June 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2019 Taking a ship to the Edge what would you like them to have? Some starters Install some underwater cameras similar to the view from the bridge that could be accessed on the cabin TV. Have cabins below the water line with a sea view, and or a lounge with that sea view. That lounge could be the best entertainment on the ship and the only pay the entertainers get is the recycled food that X dumps into the sea. That feeding frenzy would be SRO. Even better would be a infinite balcony below the water line designed by Kelly Hopkins who has no idea that it isn’t possible. And when told so she would say it will be if more pillows and knick knacks were added and the functional “clutter” on the balcony is eliminated. . 😱🤪 happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 2
DebInAntigua Posted June 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2019 You do bring up a good point. There are submerged restaurants and hotels now with undersea views. Wonder why no cruise line has developed anything to take advantage of that? Yeah it would have technical challenges but they’ve built roller coasters and other crazy things, why not a “Submerged” specialty restaurant? Too much churn from the movement to ever see anything? Very spartan and and going back before the 19th century they would sleep any where on a deck before hammocks were used. They could offer a few cabins for those that need a allergen free environment. Don’t see where that would be a issue for those that might need one. Wonder what the demand would be? Just about every padded area area would have to be replaced with a hard surface. I think the cushioned chairs are there to help muffle the sounds made in them and absorb some of the odor. 😱😷 happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 30, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2019 How about Glamping for those who want to sleep in the Edge? They could set up tents on the open deck, 😁
Mynki Posted June 30, 2019 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) There are already cruise ships with underwater views. You just don't find them in mass market lines. Check out out the blue eye Lou he's on the new Ponant expedition ships. Way too Edgy for LLP. Edited June 30, 2019 by Mynki
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted June 30, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 30, 2019 With underwater views, while moving, 99.99% of the time you'll see nothing with the best chance of seeing anything would be while not moving in port. People would complain and demand refunds.
