I was just looking at the Haven cabin count today  and I think they reclassified the CC cabins as Haven as well.  We are on the 1/24/2021 sailing.  There looks to be 118 Haven cabins, which is a substantial increase to the previous count of 74.  Hoping that the additional cabin count doesn't completely overwhelm Haven common area capacity.  IMHO, it would make the cost of the Haven even harder to justify;

Nope. We booked a CC ages ago and it is now an SC.

Only CA & CB are now Haven; CC & CF are Suites.

Wendy&Grumpy, thanks.  Thanks for the correction.  When I saw what looked like extra cabins, 44 in total, I just thought CC might have been converted as well.  It’s going to be interesting, nonetheless.

We're considering upgrading. We were in Breakaway Haven last Thanksgiving, and Joy's seems to be larger. I think there's about 80 Haven cabins there (?) and I don't believe we ever saw the lounge or restaurant even half full, so I'm thinking it'll be ok. 😎

Here's my count for Joy Haven after Sept. 2020...(I could be wrong since the colors on the deck-plan are so similar :classic_tongue:)

Deck 15 - 16 staterooms

Deck 14 - 32 staterooms

Deck 12 - 4 staterooms

Deck 11 - 4 staterooms

Deck 10 - 4 staterooms

Not all were changed to Haven.

If the “S” cabins get standard suite amenities, that a lot better than the old concierge class which was mostly a big nothing (we sailed in a CC to Alaska last year).

I get the same for Joy. The 80 was referring to Breakaway. 🙃

We had actually booked to check out the concierge class, just because it was offered. lol

The Suite amenities are great though, especially for those who are getting them as a free upgrade!

We had an absolutely phenomenal time in the concierge room. From the first day to early boarding which let us get every showtime and dinner reservation we wanted to the last day when we were personally escorted off on the “secret” elevator it was great.  The room size worked for us and the bathroom was super large. there was tons of storage including two big closets. Every day we had a surprise from our room attendant even though we sure did not need more food.  breakfast and lunch were our favorites as they knew our names after the first lunch and took great care of us. Even though the menu was the same every day none of us minded and there were plenty of options.   I forgot to mention I travelled with my mom, me and my two twenty something year old kids. We usually get two balconies but with the room size we were all together and we all spent more time together than with the two rooms. This was our first time on ncl , we usually travel with rccl but with the perk of 3rd and 4th in room we couldn’t pass it up. We had a suite on rccl last cruise also and this cruise was one of our favorites. We are from south Florida so Alaska was amazing. Sorry to be so verbose but if you have additional questions I’ll be happy to help.

Were you in cabin 14778 on the joy?

We are booked on the Joy, Nov 14th 2020 for an Eastern Caribbean and have Concierge suite 14778 with the angled balcony. Looks like a great cabin, more spacious than most. We are contemplating upgrading to a Haven but not sure if it’s worth it.  We are traveling with a large group of family and don’t really care about having a “Haven only” courtyard or restaurant. That would make it harder for all the family to visit and meet up.  We did a suite on NCL Pride Dec 2019 and loved the priority on/off, reserved seating section for shows, Cagney’s for breakfast and the larger cabin/bath.  We didn’t use the butler service, but the concierge was great on helping with excursions and what to do.

Can anyone help confirm a few things? Website says priority embarkation and disembarkation, does this also apply to getting off/on the boat at each port?  I saw a comment that there is a Haven line for getting off at the ports, can concierge use it as well?

Concierge cabin gets breakfast and lunch at a private restaurant?

Is there a reserved seating section for shows?  I read they fill up quickly and are hard to get into.

Website says “and special perks” – what else is there?

For reference, we are thinking about one of the Aft facing Haven suites with the large balcony and separate living room to maybe entertain some of the family, sit out on the balcony as we sail in/out of ports. The view from pictures looks great but never had an aft corner before, not sure if it is noisy from the propellers?

Thanks in advance for any and all information!

So did you stay with cabin 14778 on the joy? Did you like the room and balcony size?

The "Suite" category is a great choice - nice perks with a big saving over Haven prices. Private breakfast & lunch avoids crowds in buffet or dining rooms. Butler service for breakfast and snacks. Concierge for all your reservations and excursions.

I like the Suites very much. The only missing part is the lack of private pool so for a few hundred (instead of thousand for Haven) I get a spa pass which has a private pool, hot tub, private loungers. This combo gets me just about everything from Haven but the added cost. I'm happy that I get everything I want and save thousand+ dollars.

OK..thanks for pointing that out.  Looking at some suites on deck 14 that looked to be former Concierge Suites.  They now have a HI designation.  They look to be the same size (actually some have a much larger balcony) as the other Haven Suites.

Prices are really good, too.

Please expand and explain this if you can.  Planning first suite experience on the Joy in 2023.  Thank you.

Which category and deck do you prefer for the suites?  Silence at night is important to me.  Thanks.

Please know they changed the amenities that come with the Joy non Haven suites.   The majority of them were taken away last November without any notifications to those that had/have a suite booked.  There are a few threads about it.

There is no longer a butler.  There is a concierge, but he does not do what a Haven concierge does.  He may help with dinner reservations and such.  There is no longer breakfast/lunch in a special restaurant.  It does include upgraded bedding and 2 free deliveries from room service.  There is also priority embark/debark.  We booked a Family Suite and vacation 44 booked (I think) a penthouse suite.  When we booked all the good stuff was listed, but we soon found out after numerous inquiries that the website was never changed.  It took forever to get the correct answers.  We upgraded to a HH.

I am sorry, but my reply is for the SC and SP suites on the Joy.  They are not Haven Suites

Yes, these are the ones, I believe cpl100 and Wendy and Grumpy are talking about.   They changed the category letters, I think.

You explained both of our experiences perfectly.   Still such a disappointment with the way it was handled.

The Joy did revise the 'suite' cabins moving 1 category into Haven. The other category has concierge service only.

When I book 'suite' cabins it's usually on the older smaller ships, ie, the Dawn class, Jewel class, Spirit, Sun. These ships don't have a Haven or only a modified Haven. The Suite cabins on these ships are wonderful, coming with butler and concierge.
