Casino and OBC

My apologies as I am sure this subject has been discussed ad nauseum, but with the new format on the Boards, I can't find anything when I search (or I execute a search and results come back for different cruise lines which may have different policies).

Anyway, we will have a decent amount of OBC from our travel agent in an upcoming cruise on Symphony this December.  After using it for gratuities and what not, I wasn't sure how to go about using OBC in the casino.  Do I just go to cashier and they give me credit?  Also, second part of question - I know there used to be a way to get cash from the casino using OBC, but not sure if that is still even possible.  We rarely gamble, but if we have to use up OBC that we aren't using elsewhere, I was thinking the casino might be where to do it.

One thing you can do to use up some of that OBC is to remove prepaid gratuities and you will see a daily gratuity fee post to your folio daily (I think that's what you're doing).

Other options are purchasing internet and excursions.

Others will chime in with more helpful info 😀

Limit your search to RCI and titles only (both available as options within the search fields).

Opting for a cash account when you check in may make getting OBC in the casino easier/cheaper.

On the newer ships you can use the slot machines to get cash charged against your cabin with no fee attached.  Just put in how much you want charged to your room and it loads it into the machine.  You can either play it or cash it out and take the ticket to the casher

If you play cards in the casino, you can get your OBC by giving your card to the dealer and asking for a specific dollar amount.  If you play slots, you can get it from the casino cashier.  There is a 5% fee unless you’re at least Prime in Casino Royale.

Most OBC that comes from a TA is refundable, that is, if you do not use it the balance will be posted to your credit card on file as a refund.   If you also have non-refundable OBC (from RCI, for instance), the non-refundable will be used first and, once it is used up, the refundable will be used.

Remember, OBC is just a credit to your onboard account.  You can use it for anything that you charge to your cabin.

You can go to Guest Services on the last night and get the refund in cash if you so desire.
