chrismakris Posted October 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) We are sailing on the Silhouette in 6 weeks and are in a concierge cabin on the back part of the hump midship. Very happy with it. Bigger balcony. The moveup price to an AQ starts at $130/pp No hump cabins available. The only difference will be we get to eat in Blu. Would you place a bid? Can we decline if we don’t like the cabin choice? Edited October 12, 2019 by chrismakris
wrk2cruise Posted October 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2019 If your bid is accepted your credit card is charged and the assigned room is what you get period. Sounds like cabin location is more important to you and I'd be tempted to keep the hump balcony.

miched Posted October 12, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2019 How many days? At 7 days it would be $18.57 /day pp at minimum bid. Chances are you will get a cabin in a bad location if accepted. Look at the unsold cabins the benefit would be dining in Blu for Breakfast and dinner, plus the Persian Gardens. The few times we weren’t in AQ we found that the breakfast in the MD was actually better with the same pastries, juices and a larger selection on the menu. We also liked the MDR dinner menu and always had a table for 2 for Breakfast and dinner with great food and beverage service. The only reason that’s we would sail in AQ was because of the price point and the extra perks offered. The other times not in AQ was because we couldn’t justify the big cost difference plus we would get a large balcony on the slant. Go go with your gut feeling and want is important. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

phoenix_dream Posted October 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Depends what’s important to you. Do you spend a lot of time on the balcony? Have you never sailed AQ and want to try it, and Blu? We would switch because we vastly prefer Blu to the MDR. But hump cabins with their bigger balconies are hard to give up. It has been reported that a particular big warehouse travel club does not participate.

Blu wasn't really better than MDR in our opinion. We are booked on 1/12/20 Edge sailing and in just an E3, but the MoveUp minimum for AQ is $350pp which is definitely not worth it since you can purchase a couples thermal suite pass for the week for $249.
