Bringing Wine Onboard--NCL Breakaway

Dont normally sail NCL so looking for info on bringing wine onboard.

Can I bring as many bottles as i like?

Do I declare the wine once i arrive at the cruise terminal, i think i read it cannot be in your checked luggage

I would like to have the wine I bring served in the dining room but since NCL is freestyle is that possible, if so, how does that work?

Yes, you can bring how many bottles of wine you want BUT you will pay $15 a bottle (corkage fee) before you ever get on the ship...it cannot be in checked luggage, you claim it when you check in..And you just bring it with you to the dining room.

We just sailed on Breakaway last month.  Paid the $15 per bottle corkage fee upon boarding.  Had all wine in our carry on and they tagged each bottle so we could take it to the dining room without any questions!

As stated above, you pay the $15 on boarding. They don't know where you will be drinking it at that point. You pay the corkage for every bottle you take onboard.

It is really the best way to go if you want decent wine and cheaper than what many restaurants charge for a corkage fee.

Just to add, they will open and then store your bottle of wine for use the next night. It doesn't matter which restaurant you eat in; they will go and get your opened bottle and serve it to you the following night.

Will they open the bottles for you at any bar or should I pack a cork screw in my checked bag?  I wouldn't want to bring it to dinner, but have it in my room to enjoy.
