waspin247 Posted January 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2020 Okay I have a unique situation here that I wanted some advice on. Our cruise is next week and my parents won’t be able to come. My Father is very sick and they are deciding to skip out. They aren’t looking for a refund or anything, but my question is if someone else who is already going on the cruise can stay in their room? For example, one of the rooms we have has 4 people in an interior room. Could 2 of them change to my parents balcony room? I just feel like since they fully paid we want to see if we can get someone in that room. Thanks in advance for your help

tallnthensome Posted January 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) Ask customer service and see if they can switch guests in the rooms. One of the grandparents in each and one of you in each. Then just have them be no shows . Edited January 4, 2020 by tallnthensome
tonit964 Posted January 4, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I would think you would have to tell them at check in that your parents won't be coming and you would like to keep the room. ETA: Couldn't you just call Carnival now and put one child with each grandparent and it will be taken care of when you arrive for the cruise? audcc77 Posted January 4, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2020 Great question. Sorry about your dad not being well enough to go. I agree that switching one of your parents into the other room first is your best bet. There may be a $50 change fee or two. This is one of the many reasons I keep my PVP; because if something happens, she can go to bat for me. Good luck and I hope it works. Please report back what happens. Jeni99 Posted January 4, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2020 I have been able to change who is in what room before.. twice actually. I did it because of Cheers and one person wanting and other not. I was not charged a fee. I would try doing that. I do not think if at port you say they arent coming but want to use their room will work. Good luck! ❤️
