So what happened to Captain Tani ?  He is one of our favorite captains and we are sailing on the Ruby in mid April

Mine, too! I was recently told that he retired, but I couldn't find anything about that. I was also told that Captain Fortezze was going to join Ruby April 10 in SF, and take over for the Hawaii cruise on April 14th. THEN, last cruise Captain Tani showed back up! And now, he's gone. I have a friend who is doing a total of 103 days on the Ruby, and he is keeping me up to date. 

 

Also, Alex was on as ED, then was supposed to leave, but he never did. And, Jaclyn showed up as CD, after like 3 in a row switching off, and now she is gone.  I can't keep up! Ha ha. I board on 4-7. Who knows who will be there!

Yes, Frenchie was supposed to get on board on the 9th, but they are switching her to the Grand, instead.  Alex told me he is now staying until May.  But now Scott has replaced Jaclyn?  Sigh.

It looks like there are at least three groups on here 🙂 I was the one who suggested Marco Fortezze would be aboard for our RT Van/Hawaii cruise. Now I am as confused as the rest. When we were on the Sky with him recently, he told us (as he was leaving the ship), he would be seeing us on the Ruby-That he would join in SF on the way to Vancouver. At the time, I thought that was strange as he had been replacing Heiki Laakkonen on the Sky on a regular basis?

I am on both the 4-7 & the 4-14 on Ruby. Between this group,  both my rolls calls for the 2 sailings, and my other (unmentionable) groups, I get a lot of different info. Right now, Kevin - 30 and a Wake Up is onboard Ruby, so he is going to share the board with me at the beginning of the next 2 before I board. 

 

Captain Lewis was only onboard for a couple of sailings, before Captain Tani came back for one. I hope he is okay, and this is just a logistical move for Princess. When you had shared that Marco Fortezze would take over for Hawaii, I fully expected Steven Lewis to be captain until then. I guess we'll see 🤷‍♀️

That appears to be the case. According to Jaclyn's IG, she is now currently on the Sun for 8 days as Shopping Host and shooting promotional videos. That role seems like a step down from Cruise Director.

It should be Heiki.  Both captains are listed and they generally switch off unless someone is assigned a different ship.
