I read on another site that Splendor was really rocking and rolling last night.  Any comments?

No motion at all.  A couple days ago it was windy and rocky but nothing to write home about.

Thank you for responding.  I think the person on the other site was on deck 10 forward and may have felt the motion more than others.

No more self serve in La Veranda starting at noon today. S & P were still on the tables.

Regarding the high winds(up to 75 mph) and seas a few days ago the ship seamed very stable. Out side decks were closed.

Pool deck BBQ tonight.

The 14 March cruise is still on as of a 3:45p email from my TA. We did get a very attractive up sell offer to penthouse A, B, and C, so I guess cabins are opening up. Didn’t take the offer. Still planning on going. Only the airline and/or Regent will cancel this holiday for us.

We went on the Salsa & Salsa excursion.  We were tendered.  We met at 8:30 in the theater.  We were on the bus about 9:20. We waited about 12 minutes because 2 people had taken bus tickets but were a no show.  Rude! We had about a 5 minute bus ride to the Solmar Resort.  There were 60 of us who filled a beachside room.  We were given watery Margaritas...ice had melted. Two people worked together to make the salsa.

First up we made ourselves a Margarita...much better!  Then we made a roasted tomato salsa.  We made ours very spicy using a whole Serrano chili.  It was very good.

We made 6 kinds of salsa.  Spicy Red my favorite.

We spent about 30 minutes on dancing the salsa.  It was an okay excursion for me.  I know many people loved it.

Just move their stuff to another lounger.  No problem at all.  If confronted  just say you don't know anything about it.  Works every time for me

agreed - I asked one of the pool/bar guys to move the stuff that had been sitting on a chair for a few hours.  He moved it to a table close by.  When the woman came looking for her stuff over an hour later I suggested she ask the pool guy or look on the "stuff left too long table" - not much she could say.

I heard from my travel advisor that the 2 day cruise after ours has been canceled.  Yikes!  Anyone on the next cruise hear anything??

My agent was suppose to be on that cruise, but it was canceled.  She was very disappointed.

Hi Crisy,

Glad your cruise continues well and thanks for the excellent blog & beautiful photos.

How do you get all your photos to be so crisp & bright? especially those taken in the restaurants under difficult lighting?

We loved our Salsa & Salsa excursion. When are you posting the photos of Jim dancing?  😉

Hi Sue.  Thank you for your kind words.  I’m just using my IPhone 11 Pro.   I believe the lighting has improved in Compass Rose at least. Jim took a hard pass on Salsa!  Our beautiful sky last night!

Good to know - my iPhone X died on day two of our January cruise, so not too many pics (I still had my Nikon DSLR but don't that one around the ship with me...)  When we got back stateside I picked up a new 11 Pro Max - I'm looking forward to learning the new camera features, but judging by your photos it'll take some nice shots.   🙂

Agree that the photos are great!  My DH has the iPhone X and I have the iPhone 11 (did not need the PRO).  Haven't had the opportunity to take many photos but will do so IF we take our cruise on Saturday.

Based on the posts from the current cruise, Splendor is much safer than going to a regular restaurant in areas where there are cases of coronavirus.

Last night was the Grand Deck Barbecue.  We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening.  The weather was perfect with a cool breeze.  The sky was pink.  It was magical.

The Galley team had a parade and a well deserved standing ovation.

What a great evening.  I hope we have one...

Photos - I have to figure how to get the photos easily from my iPhone (11 Pro) to my computer and am working on this!!  Any tips gratefully accepted.  Cruisin7 - how do you do it?  Your photos are wonderful.

Thank you!  I transfer all my photos to my iPad.  For me it is much easier to see and choose the photos.  I guess you can download them to your computer.  We saw whales today but I couldn’t get a good picture.  We saw lots of dolphins this morning.

Really enjoying the blog.  Thanks for posting all the pictures and information.  Excited to be joining the next leg - San Diego to Miami.

Has anyone been going to hear the guest lecturer(s)?  If yes, who are the guest speakers and what are they talking about?  Anything on the Panama Canal?  Is there any commentary on the Panama Canal day?

Any favourite excursions to recommend?

All the best to everyone - safe travels after the cruise.

I have no idea how the lectures will be structured but when we last did this same cruise (2005 on the Mariner) we had a man on board who had worked for the Canal Authority for 25 years.  There was not much he didn't know about the canal.  It was fascinating...

Then when we went through the canal a man from Panama came on board and commented.   That too was lovely.

What we will have on our 14 March cruise - I don't know.  But I am looking forward to the lectures no matter what!!

See you Saturday!!!

Thank you!  We saw the dolphins the morning after we left Cabo. We left Cabo a 11:00 pm.   It was at 7:00am.  We were on our balcony.  We are port side.

Yesterday before Bingo we had to try the famous Cronut, a mix of  croissant and donut.  I had no idea that each day is a different flavor.  This is peanut butter & jelly.  Interesting!

Thank you!  My favorite excursion was in George Town.  Swimming with the Stingrays.  I should tell you it says the maximum age to participate is 70.  I have no clue if that is enforced.  The tour was not that active.

I don’t know the gentleman in the red cap.  I hope he doesn’t mind the photo.  It was a good picture of the Stingray.

I’m sorry to say I have not been to any lectures.  Maybe someone else could comment.
