Gerry Thank you Gerry. We’re going to get mom back to “ship-shape” and ready to sail again. mrstanley Posted March 8, 2020 #152 Share Posted March 8, 2020 I’m onboard and just had a toe polish change in the spa. Can’t believe they don’t have plastic toe separators! The nail tech used Kleenex. Unbelievable!!!!

Unless the plastic separators were disposable, we would personally prefer something like Kleenex that would be new for every person.

Rare crusin7 Posted March 8, 2020 Author #155 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Today is a sea day and a Sunday so we had the Grand Buffet. It was very nice. The staff in Compass Rose were running around like mad people. They sure work hard. Some observations as I wait for pics to download.. 1. There are only 2 functioning Poker machines in the Casino. The third one should be repaired in San Diego. If you play slots you know this is crazy!! Poker machines are the most popular. 2. We have surprisingly seen people in shorts after 6:00pm. One couple were turned away at Compass Rose. Two gentlemen were served in the Meridian Lounge on 2 different days. One gentleman wore shorts to the 7 Seas top tier event. 3. The Bridge Cam is still not functional. 4. Chair Hogs exist! 5. Meridian Lounge has the best drinks ever! They need to be ship wide.

mrstanley Posted March 8, 2020 #159 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Regarding toe separators: I meant to say disposable rubber ones used in all salons. They work much better than Kleenex. Taking off dark nail polish is a mess! I had my polish removed, my toes shaped and filed and new polish applied today. The nail tech did a great job! Not easy to do it yourself! 😊

fluckey Posted March 8, 2020 #161 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Ah, the chair hogs. Some things never change. Are there any signs that Regent crew are doing anything about it?

Hambagahle Posted March 9, 2020 #165 Share Posted March 9, 2020 Jackie is SO right. Go and tell Franck. OR tell the manager around the pool and if no action then tell Franck. It is NOT right and NOT acceptable. I can say with confidence and I hope that Jackie will agree! that if this repeats on the 14 March cruise Franck will know very soon...and in fact, no matter who the GM is, this sort of "uncorrect" behaviour is something s/he needs to know about. I hate it when people think they are that important they can do what they want.

fluckey Posted March 9, 2020 #169 Share Posted March 9, 2020 Of course the chair hogging has been going on for years, although maybe not on Franck's ships. My point is that Regent had had no commitment and no consistent program to stop it. On my cruises, Regent action has been generally limited to a few comments in the daily paper. No one has been watching and taking action, at least not on a regular basis.

If Regent could effectively and consistently enforce a 30-minute policy, this would probably stop. Or maybe not...chair hogs are by definition inconsiderate people. Short of hiring a dedicated deck chair monitor with a set of stopwatches, I don’t know how to stop that.
Rare crusin7 Posted March 9, 2020 Author #171 Share Posted March 9, 2020 Last night we managed to waddle back to Compass Rose for dinner. I’m scared to step on a scale! We all chose the same app...Black Mussels White Wine Cream Sauce, Poblano, Tomatoes, Scallions. Melt in your mouth delicious. Definitely best bite of the day and possibly the cruise. Mussels Jim had Conchiglie Pasta, Baby Clams, Creamy Champagne Sauce. He loved it. Pasta i had had the New Zealand Lamb Chops on the always available menu. They were delicious. It's a tough call for anyone to determine how long someone has been out of their chair. It's especially hard for an employee to monitor with any consistency. On one cruise ship on another line, a crew member would walk the pool deck and put a sticky note with a the time on it and place it on the saved lounge. He would return and if 30 minutes had expired he'd remove the items. That could be a possibility if this is a problem on Regent, particularly considering the much smaller passenger load than main line ships.

I think that that procedure is the answer... have "stickies" printed so the staff can enter the time...and then remove the things. Once this happens a few times I think it will stop. That is, until the next cruise... but it is better than leaving things where they are.
