Not dugongs. Their cousins the Manatees. It is because the water is warmed by an underground spring in this particular area so they like to congregate in this place. And yes it is a great place to see them. There are so many:

Manatees are found in the Americas and are related to dugongs found in our region IIRC.

Would that mean the picture is not in Australia?

Crystal is the first part but a little bigger than a creek🤗 and if you want to be exact there is a spring of a certain number of related females😉
