Dialysis at Sea

Recommended Posts

Dialysis at sea is operated by a 3rd party, Who determines what cruises they want to offer the service on, reserves conference room space, and sells (resells) the necessary cabins and services at their own rates.   I suggest that you go directly to their website (dialysisatsea.com) or call them at 800-544-7604

I had a good friend that did peritoneal dialysis and he cruised all the time.  We sailed with him a couple times.    Royal was wonderful in handling all his supplies and bringing to the cabin and taking the old hoses, etc. away every morning.     He would do his dialysis while sleeping and didn't stop him from enjoying his cruises.

I talked with a nurse at one of my dialysis appointments about it.  She said that sometimes they will offer free cruises to nurses who volunteer to help run dialysis during the cruise.  She said it was very well done from what she heard.  I never went through with it since I received a transplant but it is definitely an option.
