I will hope that I get some after my next cruise in November. I only spend between $2K in there on average so maybe why. Not a high roller. Ask them to rate your play. I think they like a minimum of $25/hand.

However, I'm doing nothing wrong by taking my own chips off the table and putting them into my pocket/purse. I just don't make a big show of it (like cashing in smalls for a big chip and taking that off the table). If I have a stack of maybe 7-10 $5 chips 1 or 2 will make their way into my purse. After enough time, I usually end up with what I started with in my purse. All the subsequent play has been with 'free' chips. I consider part of the this cost of entertainment. The cameras are there if they need to rewind to see something controversial that may have happened (dealer sweeping up a winning hand by mistake, suspicions of cheating, etc) They aren't calling the security staff over me messing around with my own chips.

I would think he should be getting pretty good offers. For comparison I lose about $100 a day in the casino. Not sure what that makes my "coin-in" on their slots. With that play right now I'm booked on 2 free cruises (13 nights) with DOU. And I have several other casino offers, granted they aren't Oceanview or balconies or drinks anywhere. You're playing enough that you should get some sort of attention by the casino staff. However, you have to make sure you're 'seen', especially at the tables. If you bring cash, make sure you put out your card with the cash, so it gets noted. Like I said, I only buy in for 200-300 per day, and I have to give my card up when I purchase my chips at the table because I charge it to my S&S card. However, that guarantees a personal visit from the pit boss to sign the slip, etc. I make sure to say hello to them, and thank them for each interaction, and generally be chill. I'm NOT a big spender, my bets are no where near $25 a hand, I'm more of a $5 to $10 per hand player. However, I DO put out a $1 bet for the dealer on almost every hand, and that tip money stacks up for the dealer. They LOVE it, and the boss notices and loves it too. They all remember players who consistently tip. They are working long hours on their feet, and I'm sitting in a chair, drinking and having fun. That being said, my DH plays also and usually is betting double what I bet. He also plays for/tips the dealers often, but his tips are with $5 chips. That's just the way he is. He DOES get better casino offers than me, but we both do get them.
Rare Wanna_Cruize Posted July 2, 2021 #130 Share Posted July 2, 2021 Also, remember the old saying, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. If you're at a table being a sourpuss and complaining about everything, not much good is going to come from that. You should cut your losses and go to bed, you're not having a good time anyway. If you're an a-hole to the dealers, they will remember you, but not in any way that will benefit you.
Cruise Related Posted July 3, 2021 #131 Share Posted July 3, 2021 Sharonatsea on YouTube just showed a quick video of the change. It makes me sad. It’s so bare now, it’s just a circle of slots where the bar once was and a few other rows, with the cool art funnel deal coming out the center. With no bar, there will be less visitors. It's not a hangout anymore where you can grab a drink, a smoke, gamble a bit and converse/meet up. It's gone from a destination location to a specific purpose (gamble and leave) location.

Yeah, makes sense as a saving money stand point, but seems a loss for carnival? Do they make more off of booze or gambling? Wait, don’t answer that, pretty sure I know the answer. It's a casino - not a social club. But it will be gamble, gamble more while waiting for a free drink, repeat as necessary. There almost certainly will be less smoke rising up to the next deck. Sounds exactly like the logic of a bean counter who looks at data tables only and doesn't understand the product or service they are selling and how it relates to the customer experience. Sounds like a handful of people overvalue themselves. And/or have never been on a Vista class ship. There was no bandstand nearby to attract non-gamblers . People like the location of the casino because they don't have to walk through the smoky stench to get from point A to point B on Deck 5.

Rare BlerkOne Posted July 3, 2021 #145 Share Posted July 3, 2021 Looking at a deck plan for Mardi Gras, I don't see a dedicated casino bar there, either. Must be a sign of the times. Of course, there are bars all around the ship, albeit perhaps non-smoking.

I give them my card. My first few cruises, I was only paying with cash but learned you have to give them the card to keep track. The last four cruises, at least $2000 was spent in the casino. Will probably be spending more next cruise with the OBC that was given.
