It's not a problem. The casino bar is full of smokers, non-smokers, gamblers, drinkers and any combination of those individuals/couples/groups. It was the one free place on the ship where people could come together and socialize and those who wanted to self-segregate could stay away. It always has the most outgoing and unpretentious people (both smokers and non-smokers alike). Then funnest passengers frequent the casino bar, it's a real shame if this is really true. It was the last refuge where everyone is welcomed.

Breaking Carnival rules is not a problem? That's a problem.

Breaking what rule? There isn’t a rule that you cannot sit at that bar. You cannot sit at the slots and smoke and not play. If you’d like to show me a direct quote of the rule then you can go around accusing people of rule breaking. Otherwise you’re spouting incorrect information.

Actually, I’ll do the work for you Blerk. Pretty simple and easy google search provided me with some rules.

Shocking. I was wrong. as long as

Smoking is permitted in a designated area during open hours.

and

Note: Cigar and tobacco pipes are only permitted in the above outdoor smoking areas

What I heard was they were removed and replaced with machines. I'll find out soon enough.

Permanently maybe.   Replaced with casino games now.

Heck yeah! Met some great people at that bar! I know Carnival started having issues with people that would go and sit at the slots just to smoke, that’s why carnival started implementing rules, like you gotta play to stay. But it had nothing to do with the bar.

Getting rid of the bar will ensure that folks plop down at slot machines to smoke. It will only increase the problem, not reduce it. The bar will be back in no time.

Guarantee you I can milk a few bucks for as long as a pack of smokes lasts 😉

What no bar in a casino what are you thinking carnival please reverse this silly idea that someone in the carnival corporation came up with.

Exactly, and fire the arsehat who came up with such a boneheaded idea.

Panorama has the Hero bar but it's oddly shaped, in a odd location and there isn't much seating. It just doesn't feel inviting as a place to hang out.

You hit the nail on the head. The size and location of the space looks like it was originally going to be one of the Fun Shops and at the last moment Carnival came up with the Heroes Bar idea. It does not appear to be a purposely designed space to stay and relax.

If there is a section of the Casino not filled with smoke, I would spend some time there. My wife will not even venture near the casino because of smoke.

Some casinos in Washington tried non-smoking rooms made of plexiglass. The staff didn't like working in there because they said it smelled.

It's much the same with the Pig and Anchor Brewery. Not very many seats inside and only a few outside ones. Meanwhile, the deck 5 Plaza outdoor area (particularly on the port side) would make a perfect indoor/outdoor beer garden setting and has much space that is underutilized while the current location feels squeezed/cramped. Makes you wonder if the people that design these ships actually cruise and/or appreciate the space use issues and what their customer base wants.

They're there because it's a happening place, people are outgoing, and it's very easy to strike up a conversation. It's the #1 spot for social interaction.

You make it sound like a pick up joint where at last call the bartender plays Donna Summer singing "Last Dance, Last Chance, For Love."  🙂
