September/October sailings announcement

Recommended Posts

My September cruise was just canceled.  This was to be my second cruise, and is the first time I’ve had one canceled.

Looking at the deal they are offering to take credit over a refund, it doesn’t seem all that great, unless I’m missing something.  Is the “FCC “ just credit for the amount I paid towards a future cruise purchase?

And $300 OBC sounds good, but we were booked on a $200 OBC promo, so it feels like we’re only getting $100 extra. I guess, or I hope at least, that the $300 OBC would stack with any promo offered on a future cruise?  I think the OBC is limited though as to what it can be used for, so there’s probably a limit to how much would be useful.

And, I guess I get to contact American to find out what my options are for my tickets …

We got unvaccinated peeps on my sept cruise especially waiting for their options. They allowed august to cancel with a refund, but nothing about Sept. Some are tired of waiting .. I'm going but feel for those on pins and needles.

Carnival is giving refunds if you don't want to have to get the vaccine.  I just cancelled for my sister who was going with us on Sept. 5th today and they are giving her a full refund.

Keep an eye on the Mexican Covid Traffic Light.  That will tell you a lot for the Mexican ports and what will and won't be allowed. Which will impact ship itineraries.

Just got back yesterday. Was there for a week and spent 3 days in town. Safety is being practiced everywhere, we always felt safe. Besides the masks, you'd never know that there was a severe covid issues. Americans were all over the place! The hotel we stayed at also cleaned 24/7, so we felt safe there also. Had our covid test 3 days before coming back and we tested negative. Can't wait to go back in Oct!

Yes, FCC is the monies you paid are held and applied toward a future cruise.

Yes, the $300 OBC is stackable, so if you book under a new rate that has OBC with it you will get BOTH

The only thing reported so far it can't be used for is buying Carnival Gift Cards on board, and you can't cash it out into actual $ in the casino.  So you can use it for anything else you would normally use it for, drinks, excursions, gratuities, purchases in the shop, specialty dinning, etc.  PLENTY to use $300 on.

Thank you!! It was awesome! Still daydreaming, lounging by pool and getting those 'free' drinks, lol! Oh well, we have Oct cruise to look forward too!

We were in Playa del Carmen over New Years and the first week of June and felt safer there than at home. There is no doubt that the hotels/resorts are taking this seriously. Constant cleaning, mask wearing, hand sanitizer everywhere, shoe sanitizers, tables spaced out at restaurants, etc. It was fabulous.
