Whew! Thanks for the information. Both of my bids say pending so I will wait for the processing word since it will be another 20 days until we sail. It is early yet but this is my first time bidding.

I've been talked off the ledge by some family members who have stayed in rooms by elevators and said noise wasn't a problem. And I found a Cruise Critic thread that says the same thing. So, I'm back to celebrating the upgrade and hoping for the best.

So out of curiosity, Usually the Get upgraded banner would appear 55 days out. Now that Final Payment is Due 120 days out for my 9 day cruise on the Getaway, will i get the upgrade banner sooner? I am booked directly through NCL.

You will love the bathroom and shower in this suite. Having two bathrooms makes such a difference. Looks like you are under the steam rooms so should be pretty quite.  Have a great time in Alaska. We just returned from there.

A silly question -- and I did try to search for it, but couldn't find it.

 

If one gets an upgrade, does one get a new set of luggage tags?  If so, and they don't assign it until the day before sailing, what does one do without a printer handy to print them (i.e., at a hotel in port)?

It may have changed, but they'll handwrite luggage tags at the port as long as you've got the cabin # on your boarding docs.

NCL Joy May 5/15-22

We had a Deck 5 Oceanview Picture Window (5110). Bid $100pp for the Club Balcony Suite. The morning of 5/12 we were given a "free upgrade" to a larger Deck 5 Family Oceanview (5182) and our bid was canceled. Entered the same bid and it got accepted the afternoon of 5/12 - moved us to Deck 15 room 15170.

 

The other people we were with started in 5112, got the free upgrade to 518X (next door), then their resubmitted $100pp bid was declined on either 5/13 or 5/14. At check-in they were notified of a free upgrade to Deck 10 Balcony 10748. They were Silver level and had some kind of casino status so I assume those factored in.

I agree, we had the 2 bathroom haven on the Breakaway and the Bathroom and Showers was the high point with the floor to ceiling windows in the shower and by the tub!!!!!

If you use the NCL Credit Card points to upgrade from an OV to a Balcony at the time of booking, will you get to bid on upgrades like you had a Balcony or OV?  

 

Assuming you only get the upgrades for an OV ... is that class of cabin allowed to bid on the Haven?  I know inside cabins can only bid up to balcony, but not sure about OV.

They do not tell you if you were denied… at least that has been my experience.

I have a quick Question? Would anyone like to share there winning bids recently as far as what level the you bid? As in Poor fair strong ect....last 2 haven suites i won i have bid just below fair....one was balcony to forward facing Penthouse, the other was Courtyard to 2 bedroom.

Just won my bid for the Joy this Sunday 6/5. Was in a Haven Suite (HJ) and now within the Haven courtyard. My bid was about the middle between poor and fair. Good Luck all!
