Isn't it amazing the hoops and bars we're prepared to go through and over to be able to cruise!  We're certainly die-hards, aren't we?!

 

I've got the Travel Data Quarantine Regulations form downloaded to my favourites for our transit through Schiphol on our way to Barcelona in October.  Getting the rest of our document ducks in a row as well.

Do people entering Germany have to go into quarantine?

If you have spent time in a high-risk area or area of virus variant of concern, you are required to travel directly to your home or other appropriate accommodation immediately after arriving in Germany and to stay there for ten days (quarantine). You are not permitted to receive any visitors. Violations constitute an administrative offence and may be punished by a fine of up to 25,000 euros.

Travellers who have spent time in high-risk areas must remain in quarantine for ten days. If, before the ten days have elapsed, you submit proof of vaccination or of recovery from COVID-19 to https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de, you may end your quarantine at the time you submit the necessary proof. Alternatively, after the fifth day in quarantine, you may reduce the quarantine period by submitting proof of a negative test result. Children under the age of 12 who are entering Germany from high-risk areas may end quarantine automatically after five days even without submitting proof of a negative test result.

Travellers who have spent time in areas of virus variant of concern must remain in quarantine for 14 days. In this case, there is no option to end quarantine sooner, even for people who have been vaccinated or who have recovered from COVID-19.

The quarantine requirement will remain in effect at least until 30 September 2021.

 

Just to add that a friend was due to fly from the USA into Germany today en route to Austria for business purposes.  He has been told by the embassy that the planned overnight stay in Germany would mean quarantine and therefore at the last minute had to change all flight plans to fly via Iceland direct to Austria.  He is fully vaccinated so that is not an exception to the rule.

Currently the Dutch do not see Italy as a high risk country for covid when it comes to entering the Netherlands.  It does depend where else you have been in the preceding 10 days.  If it is only Italy you should be OK but things change fast so keep checking.

You can transit through as long as not in Amsterdam for more than 12 hours.

We're sticking with our "changed to" F/E arrival on the 20th w/ HAL transfer - then the onus is still on HAL to get us to the ship - and yes, you're right, in this crazy world NL might change their minds once again!
