We do have the early saver.

But obviously lose that rate if we do the price adjustment.

Are they still giving obc if you have other regular rates codes (non cheers or casino).

If you originally booked early saver, and price match you are still early saver. Price matching doesnt change the code you booked under. Once early saver always early saver.

Only early saver gives price matches after final payment. That is probably why some are upgrading. Can still ask for a upgrade if you booked something else and the price drops to where a higher category matches what you paid.

The form is for early saver rates. Which rate did you book?

I got 2 I cant touch with cheers, cant even upgrade. I looked yesterday and down over $200, the other down more too. Nothing I can do.

3rd one no cheers to protect and put in for at least 6 price drops on the form. I bet they know me by now, as I submit the form every time it drops $20. I'm up to $124.xx obc. Form works perfect but I'm booked early saver rate.

Why can you not touch with cheers? My PVP got us OBC after final payment and we have cheers.

You have the ru1 etc code, cheers built into the fare?

If so then I've been told wrong, that I have to have another cheers offer to match.

I have the cheers cruisefare. My prices have dropped hundreds on both my cheers fares. If I dont match another cheers cruisefare I was told cant pricematch without losing cheers. Cheers is part of my fare.

ru2.

Wow I wish I'd known soon, my vista leaves sat. Not sure the fare still shows. Awesome to know you got the price match

Only vista is early saver.

Breeze the underlying is the cheers rate. I can get my ta to ask..but not sure he can do anything on breeze. It's not early saver, and with vista leaving the rate might be gone.. thanks so much.

Appreciate it.

It seems different people get different answers to the same question. Talk to the first person and get one answer, ask for someone else and get a different answer, ask for a third and get another option. We really love the PVP we have and he could be just pulling hidden strings but he does a great job.

I am currently on hold - but my category stateroom is $170 per person less. Thanks for the heads up!

I am hoping for an upgrade (that's why I am calling instead of online form), but did book under early saver - so I can always go that route!

So did you get the upgrade?

Hi there everyone. I’m a total newbie to all of this. How does the upgrade or discount work? I just paid for my December cruise but my friends are staying in the Havana suites and I am not. Regardless, even a lower price for my current room would be great. Should I contact the travel agent or carnival directly? Thanks so much.

If you used a TA, they have to handle it. Carnival will not even talk  to you.

Thanks for the heads up, OP! I have a bunch booked over the next couple of years, and almost all of them had price reductions. I saved several hundred dollars that I would have missed out on if not for your post. Much appreciated!

I do too! I have 6 cruises booked and coming up so I am always price checking. Saved money is good money 😉.

So today apparently on quite a few sailings there has been some price drops and upgrades are happening. I just upgraded my sailing from an Oceanview to a balcony for no charge. Others have been getting similar deals and even got price reductions and OBC. Call because you never know if your cruise is on sale or an upgrade is available.

End of last week got a $418.00 reduction combined on our B2B this coming Christmas.

Just go to the carnival site and do a mock booking. Has to match your exact cat. I see people all the time saying it shows balconys are less than what I paid .. if you booked a 8d has to be a 8d, or whatever. Not the type of cabin but match the same category

Then what after? Just tell my travel agent as someone else suggested?

Yes I email my ta and say this is what I'm booked at 1000k and I am seeing 900 on the site and he fixed it and give me a new invoice.

I had 3 drop about $20 but didnt want to bother him more, but he did a lot for me. So I let some tiny drops go.

I have a Cheers-included rate leaving Saturday on the Horizon. Yesterday I was on the phone for 3 hours and 20 minutes trying to go from an inside cabin to a balcony. Balconies are currently priced lower than what I paid for the interior. They wouldn't do it without me losing Cheers and adding it manually was going to cost me $500 more than what I had paid.

It's frustrating because people are sailing for next to nothing. I guess this is a case where ignorance would be bliss. In any case, we will still have a great time.

Me too. Decided not to risk losing cheers and I'm solo and it's not like I'm picky about my cabin. I can see out, just a lot of walking. I guess I'm ignorant as I believed them when they said I cant change or I'd lose cheers. Let's go have a good time.

I've been doing mock bookings for our 9/23 Breeze trip for a while, trying to gage occupancy based on available rooms.  I saw the prices drop over the weekend.  We had one of the "Interior with Picture Window" rooms at the bow of the Lido deck.  I had already purchased the Bottomless Bubbles since we don't drink very much.  I called Carnival and I was able to move to a Balcony, two doors down the hall + Cheers for an additional $60.24.  My savings are the $300 difference between BB and Cheers.  The Balcony room is a bonus.
