We had a nice day in San Diego and are now headed south. We rode the HOHO trolley morning most of the day today with stops in Little Italy, Old Town, and Sea Port. Below is a dinner view picture plus some from today. My blog has many more details. . Enjoying your blog. Fun to read when we know you well and know the ports.. Please say hi to Mary and Brent from us. We know who Peter and Harry are, but not sure if they'd remember us. Jill and Joe

igar39 Posted October 7, 2021 #54 Share Posted October 7, 2021 This is a question about wine stewards/servers. On a cruise a few years ago we had a wine steward that was excellent. I am wondering if he might be on New Amsterdam. His name is Roy Nunga. Anyone else have him and remember him?
bcummin Posted October 7, 2021 #55 Share Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) Your beautiful San Diego photos bring back good memories. The reason I asked about chairs is that on the Volendam we had a room with a loveseat and only one chair. We asked for and received a good dining room type chair that I really appreciated using. Rare Btimmer Posted October 7, 2021 Author #56 Share Posted October 7, 2021 We had a couple excellent culinary demonstrations by Stephen from the Pinnacle grill. Today's demonstration was on chili's. It preceded the CC M&G.

I don't recognize the name. But there are no wine stewards like we used to have.

Guessing that's because the casino was giving away cabins. I should be there, playing #13 on the Roulette wheel.

Rare Btimmer Posted October 8, 2021 Author #62 Share Posted October 8, 2021 As we head further south, we woke up this morning to 75°f temperatures outside and 76°F in the stateroom which is 7° higher than when we went to bed. Visiting that huge mall in Manila, I crossed paths with Roy and his family. We had a few minutes for introductions and a brief conversation. A good man; a nice family; I hope they are surviving this plague and that Roy has found employment that suits his skills since HAL seems not to want his services and knowledge. Rare Btimmer Posted October 9, 2021 Author #68 Share Posted October 9, 2021 I'm now on Chrome and we'll see how long this browser lasts.I can see one bird picture. Here are a few more. I spent several hours watching them fish for the flying fish. The birds are 'masked boobies.' They are flying pretty fast and a bit hard to photograph. 7

Cajuntraveler Posted October 10, 2021 #72 Share Posted October 10, 2021 Thank you, so much, for taking the time to write about your cruise. We will be boarding the NA in FLL on 10/23. Can you tell me who is playing piano in the Billboard? We were on the NA in August and there was a man and woman playing. (May have been a married couple). We usually enjoy the "dueling" pianos in the Billboard and are curious if the same couple is still playing. Thank you!
