Our bdg. time has gone from 2 pm to l:40 to 1:00 to 1:20 for the New Am. Dec. 4th.  We are only 1-star Mariner, but we still intend to arrive at pier at about 12:30 and hope for the best.  Have to wonder why all the changes.  What's your experience ?  Thanks.

Our experience on the Rotterdam a couple of weeks ago was that nobody was checking times.  By the time you got to the front of the line you were well past your appointed time anyway so it didn't matter.

We had several time changes also on the NA. They sent out an email a few days before the cruise, after 3 changes, that boarding would be by deck. Suites and Club Orange could board at anytime between noon and 4:30.

Another advantage of belonging to CLUB ORANGE.

Yes, it was. We had purchased it for the cabin upgrade on a free casino cruise but the choice of boarding and disembarkation time was a nice bonus.

People that purchase hal transfers were on the ship (koningsdam) around 2 hours before anyone with club orange.  It’s not the magic door that you’d expect.  I see some higher star Mariners (I’m a 5 star) getting so upset about what club orange people get yet not a peep about people that have hal transfers.  I’m a club orange fan and purchased it on my last cruise.

We really don't care about being first on the ship. It's more about times that work with our schedules. For this cruise, 2 PM worked out great for us as we were driving from Fort Myers and had brunch plans with family.

Sounds great!  In case it’s not clear I’m not throwing any shade.  I love club orange and I will continue to purchase it.

There always seems to be so many changes with boarding times.  Mine changed countless times.

Please adhere to the specific boarding times on your boarding pass and only go to the port at your specific time.  This is very important to keep people safe and keep Covid from finding its way on our ships.

(We were able to board by noon on our Rotterdam cruise a month ago even though our boarding time was 2:20pm or some ungodly after lunch time but do not tell anyone especially the folks afraid of catching Covid so that we can easily board for lunch)

Holland America would possibly move arrival times in San Diego if more of you would adhere to the ones you have.

Lately we have seen at least 15-20 guests by 11am......200 of you by 11:30 am.

There is no incentive to change the 1 pm Group A time.

Don’t be silly.  That’s  for other people 🙄then make comments about people that are respectful of the rules.

Boarding this Sunday on the Eurodam. Original call was for Group A at 1 PM, Then 2 weeks ago changed to Group B at 12:20, and just yesterday pushed to Group C at 12:40. Ship scheduled to leave at 4 PM. So scheduled boarding times will change.

Really not concerned about what time I will "Walk the Plank", just do not want to be standing in long line for a long time.

When we boarded the NA in Sept (Alaska Cruise) the shuttle service we used to the port could not change to the later embarkation time that was given to us a couple of days before - so we ended up getting to the port about an hour early. No issue as there was no waiting - walked right in.

Still have memories of some Pre-Covid boarding of some notable very long lines - and even some pushing and breathing down my neck  (Which I really did not understand why people would get that...aggressive).
