i recently cancelled a cruise with Crystal cruises, a real favourite of mine, in 2022 as I read they had dropped off Covid passengers in the Caribbean.

 

I was lucky my good TA got my deposit back.

 

wonder how Crystal will go in the future.    I am sure it is a separate entity!  But but…,

That’s a worry being dumped of in the middle of nowhere.

Thats why I want to stay close to home or a safe destination.

 And you don’t want being  marooned with a bankruptcy.

Many North Americans cruise with no travel insurance, I have met a few.  They think Uncle Sam will rescue them for zilch, wrong !!

My agent has given me a few links for doing some research on COVID-19 related formalities.

Ive had a bit of a look at doing a cruise on spectrum out of Singapore and a look at the USA for Navigator,possibly Allure or Ovation.
Singapore at this time looks pretty complicated and the US is a breeze.
A cruise out of Singapore looks like a HEAP of paper work plus minimum of 5 Covid tests and the US is just a test before your flight .

 

Has anyone had a bit of a look at the requirements?

The only surprise maybe enchantment or another vision class which could be year round.

I don’t think I should post this but it doesn’t look good.

Singapore is not a option.

Quantum Brisbane sailings have appeared on the Port of Brisbane cruise schedule for 23/24.

I have done extensive research on flying to Singapore & cruising, when we are allowed.
I will be ready. 
And now that Spectrum is going there, I'll be making multiple trips.:)

I was under the impression we could cruise out of Singapore but as the email said Singapore passport holders only.

Yes, that's why I said 'when we are allowed'.
They were just going to open up when Omicron hit.
I had planned to be on Quantum now.:(

It’s not exactly a easy process and at the moment they are short cruises.

So much for the travel bubble,I thought cruises would be included in the bubble.

And just to add,on the Sherpa site it says you have to have a extra test on day 3 ,I believe 

 

Have you done any research on other countries such as the U.S or the UK.?

I was thinking about Allure out of Galveston at the end of the year.

From what I can work out it’s a test before the flight and one before the cruise and that’s it.

They must have changed it because of the new wave of omnicron.

 I thought I read somewhere about welcoming Australian cruisers.

So I was just chatting with a sydney bloke that is currently on Grandeur of the seas in the Caribbean.

He left sydney just after Christmas and is doing 9 Royal Caribbean cruises.

It looks quite easy to travel in the USA and flights are responsible.

Just a $79 test at sydney airport a ESTA and that was it.

Good info; thanks for sharing.  Pretty reasonable rules and not hard to comply. 
We’re planning to be on Navigator B2B in November.

It’s a lot easier that some places,as someone said it would be a full time job trying to work how to get tests.Imagine what Europe would be like.

 

Navagator? It’s only a few more hours to Houston for Allure and then you can fly home direct.

 I was looking at United with the same itinerary and it was only $1800.

Singapore has just lifted the ban on foreign passport holders to cruise apparently.

We should expect Royal to start marketing Spectrum in Australia.

And it looks like cruise with confidence will be included.
