We’re in Hawaii right now visiting friends, and yesterday we saw a smallish cruise ship docked here (in Kauai). Couldn’t get a look at the company (not Viking). Looks like Hawaii is open to at least some cruise ships again.

Looks like it might have been The World or Oceana Insignia.https://www.cruisemapper.com/ships/Oceania-Insignia-640?tab=itinerary

Thanks for posting all the pictures everyone!  Was the food as good at the hotel evening as on the ship? Will you still get two nights on Bora Bora?  Hope so!  Also hoping the weather clears for you.  It looks pretty nice from here in the Oregon gray.

The dinner/show at the Intercontinental was amazing. Food was great! Yes, will still have two nights in Bora Bora and an extra day in Tahiti. Enjoyed a gorgeous scenic cruise this morning through passage close to several islands.

Cruise Mapper gives the impression the Orion will be calling in at Hawaii on the way back to the US. Have those folks on board been adivised of their itinerary?

PS .  you have to zoom out a bit on that link to get the past & future route.

Don't believe everything you read on Cruisemapper, especially in regard to Viking. They chronically have wrong information. By the time they find out that there have been itinerary changes, folks will be back in LA.

Probably because the previous portion FLL to LA had some Covid cases

There were cases on the December 20 sailing, which tripped another investigation. Keep in mind that between the number of guests and crew, it takes just one positive among the guests to trigger and "investigation" and raise the yellow flag. One person per thousand is the threshold. Larger ships have more leeway.

We have been in contact with Bloody Mary’s Restaurant in Bora Bora for dinner Friday night here is the information we received.  The restaurant does accept walk in customers but reservations are recommended.  There is a shuttle from the tinder dock to the restaurant for a charge of 1000 CFP, a reservation secures your seat on the shuttle.  Reservation can be made at this website https://www.bloodymarys.com/contact-us.html using the email.  They accept reservations up to the afternoon before dinner.  More information is available on the restaurant on the site.

We went to Bloody Mary’s 35 years ago after hopscotching through the Tahitian islands and ending up in Bora Bora. Glad to hear that the place is still in business!

What time are you heading over? Sounds like a fun idea.

The shuttle will be at the tinder location at  6:30 pm.  Checking on tinder schedule since it may be a late night.  No shirts, no shoes, no problems.
