That is a PAIN.  Since RCI status is lifetime, I wonder why you have to status match again every year?????

That is exactly what I told her! A RCCL status only goes UP…never down! She simply stated it was policy..I suppose because their players cards expire every year it’s too much trouble to keep up with who should renew and whose doesn’t. Easier for them if they all expire, and saves them comps for those that do not renew.

I just called.  The MLife/MGM Rewards rep told me you have to renew your status every year after Jan. 1.  Status is only good for one year.

Got my tier match earlier this year and expiration date is JAN 2024 though it is also a military/veteran card.

Thanks to all the CC members that gave me such great advice.  I called the Mlife member rewards at 866-791-7111.  It took 20 minutes on hold but the Mlife agent was able to upgrade myself and my husband to GOLD after 20 minutes with her.  We are both Diamond on RC.  We mainly visit the Borgata because we live in NJ.  May go to Vegas again when we feel safe to travel by air,

FYI.  You listed the wrong number.  This is some type of emergency number so not good to have it listed here.  Maybe mods can delete it?  I should be 761 as I recall not 791.

Unlike the Caesars program I believe the $100 food credit is based on $'s gambled, so unless you gamble enough to earn the Gold status without the tier match no $100 food credit.

I was just told this on the phone.  So the $100 credit is only given if you earn the status gambling.  Makes sense to me.

The two big benefits for us, are the Comped Resort Fees ($50+ nightly), VIP Buffet Lines, VIP Lounge at Borgata Atlantic City ($10 Comp per visit, per person.  myVegas can help to build comp credit for Borgata.)  Room/Suite Upgrades and more.

I just saw a latest update post on MilesTalk that Borgata no longer offers any perks with a match but you still get the Gold card.  I have searched but can't find anything or anywhere else that confirms this.  Has anyone else heard about this change?

We have a gold MGM card as a result of our Crown and Anchor status.  We were just at the Borgata and received the Gold card benefits, Amphora Lounge access using $12.50 in comps, no resort fee and dedicated check-in line.

We are new to RCCL but Pearl status with MGM.  Will we get upgraded RCCL casino status with our Pearl card?  How do we do that?

Pearl MGM status doesn’t list any benefits for Royal.  That said, Prime level on Royal is not too difficult to achieve. You need 2,500 points for Prime ($5 in slot play earns 1 point).  You do not have to earn all 2,500 points in a single cruise. They accumulate from April 1 to March 30.  As soon as you hit 2,500 points, you are Prime until March 30 and again for the following year’s March 30.

Prime gets you free drinks when the casino is open as well as a free cruise (inside cabin). The casino host will also have a sheet listing awards/discounts for points earned during.a cruise. These can vary by month.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I have a question. If you do the tier match from C&A to MGM Gold, does the resort fee waived applies to any reservation or only those made directly through MGM resorts?

Officially, it has to be through MGM resorts. Says it on Terms of Service fine print, but unofficially, I am unsure. You *might* be able to get the comped, but iffy.

Not sure reason for not booking through MGM site, perhaps price issues, but outside of summer peak time I have seen comp nights for every other month this past year. Go through the booking process at MGM and see what shows up.

I've just asked to be matched so I can't see any offer yet and I found a better price, but if I get the status I might cancel and rebook.

Ok, just got my Gold status, the price through MGM site isn't better that the one I got before, where do you see the comp nights offers?

I just looked at MGM Rewards site and see comp nights available for the rest of May and for the next few months at all of the Las Vegas properties I looked at. Being a right coaster I just check out the Borgata in Atlantic City and they are not showing any comp nights for now. Just make sure you access the MGM Rewards site and hopefully you will see the comp nights that are available, My level of gaming would not get me a free cup of coffee so the only access I have for the nights is through the tier match. Hope this helps.

When we made RCL Diamond I had my MGM account linked, so now am Gold at MGM.

Last month I had an email from MGM noting comped rooms and lower rates.  I clicked the link in that email and it took me in to the MGM site.  I could choose different properties and see the calendar of comped or lower cost rooms for each one.  If I wanted to stay mid-week at the Excalibur in June, I could have gotten the weekdays comped.  As it is, I booked a weekend and got one comped night (Friday) and lower rates on Saturday and Sunday.

The Resort Fee is shown in the total, but will be waived (per fine print) at checkout.  I followed the inserted link to the program rules and did not see anything pertaining to Resort Fees.  So we shall see.... 😉

They have to manually remove the fees from your room.  Most agents will do this when checking you in, although they did get it removed when i did online check in but doing it that way means they will hold an authorization for the resort fees.
