WonderMan3 Posted February 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2022 Every other ship has a schedule now through winter of 2023/2024 except Infinity. Its last sailing is in September 2023 in Europe. Will it be leaving the fleet after that? Or is it possible that it will be doing China/Japan itineraries but they can't set them up yet due to China's Covid restrictions? With Edge and Millennium already over in that part of the world that seems like a lot of ships in that region during one season but there will also be pent up demand. Just wondering what people may have heard recently regarding the future of the ship.
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted February 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2022 The Caribbean deployment announced today did not include San Juan as a homeport. All departures were from Ft Lauderdale, Miami or Tampa. It could be that Infinity will be used for several charters or go for her revolutionizing and then sail from San Juan and those itineraries will be released later. I would be very surprised to see them abandon San Juan completely as a homeport.
WonderMan3 Posted February 16, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted February 16, 2022 Ah, that makes sense. I looked on Google and saw that they are planning a massive infrastructure project at San Juan's port starting this fall that will last until early to mid-2024. The article says it will not affect maritime traffic but perhaps they are still assessing the port schedule? https://newsismybusiness.com/60-5m-renovation-project-at-port-of-san-juan-to-improve-future-energy-costs/

Celebrity might decide to sell the Infinity father than take on more debt to Revolutionize the ship.
SummmerInKefalonia Posted February 16, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2022 Itineraries of Infinity were expected to be revealed with the ones of Millenium's and Eclipse's some months ago. It was supposed to be a winter season in Europe. But who knows what happened and they pushed them back?

cameronp12 Posted December 18, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2022 The Infinity is honestly probably a great ship for them to use for their new year round Europe season. The average passengers who would book fall/winter Europe are probably less concerned with which ship (think older, retired, empty nesters, etc.) and just want to cruise Europe in non-busy season. And a lot of these folks probably prefer M-class to E-class anyway. And that allows them to move the newer/updated ships to the huge moneymaker locations (Caribbean in the winter), where younger people/families might want to be on the latest and greatest. That’s my opinion at least.

Med sailings are very different than the Caribbean…They often feature only one seaday and while in the Caribbean it’s not uncommon to sit on the beach…On a med sailing you’re touring and hardly care about a ships entertainment 1

The thread was really old (February 15) - the full deployment through March of 2024 is now out.
